AND THE WINNER IS! 🚀🌌🎖️ What an amazing acknowledgement for my directorial debut, and Afro-Futurist Drama Sci-Fi Film, @harlemfragmentsfilm to be awarded Best New Media and Experimental Film of 2025, the by 36 Industry Jurors out of 130 Nominees, across 16 categories over 12 months of 12 festivals, intentionally curated by @nfmla Such a meta-cathartic moment for this recognition to come from the special place we debuted our launch of this film in the festival circuit 🚀— With a 10 year-old Black superhero protagonist at the centerpiece of this entirely Black ensemble cast, it’s an understatement to express what this means to not just myself, but our entire cast/crew that brought this mighty film to life meant for families going through turmoil out there across the globe to resonate with. As a non-repped + underrepresented Director, to be recognized within this innovative category among such special films expanding the boundaries of filmmaking is an affirming proof point that highlights how this film is pushing the barriers of non-conventional storytelling, divisively connecting with audiences from all backgrounds.
