Risograf-maskinene er opprinnelig laget for å trykke store opplag. Teknikken er #miljøvennlig, #raskt og kan være #kostnadseffektivt. I risografi trykkes det én farge om gangen med stensiler tilsvarende #silketrykk, men maskinelt. Originaler kan være tegnet, klippet ut, foto, flate objekter som kan skannes – eller tekst. Riso-trykkfargene er delvis transparente og blander seg når man trykker flere farger over hverandre. Trykkfargene er begrenset til noen farger, men allikevel er det mange muligheter for å produsere fargesterke og unike #trykk. En viss uforutsigbarhet i registrering av farger hører med til teknikken, eksperimentering blir en del av prosessen. Maskinen vi skal bruke trykker på ubestrøket papir opp til ca. 230g og i maks. A3-format. I kurset blir deltakerne kjent med risografi som trykkteknikk, og får anledning til å eksperimentere med egne arbeider. Målet er å lager en felles #publikasjon som blir presentert på @bergenartbookfair (14–16 april 2023). Deltakerne blir presentert for et tema som de utforsker til dette fellesprosjektet. Hver deltaker får 2 eksemplarer av publikasjonen. @benjaminhick er del av det kunstnerisk orienterte innbyggerinitiativet @byverksted i Stavanger, som undersøker muligheter for demokratisk deltakelse, byutvikling nedenfra og fellesskap i samarbeid. Han bruker også en del tid på grafisk design for kulturelle og sosiale oppdragsgivere, på formidling og på frie prosjekter. Formelt utdannet ble han på kunstakademier i Berlin, Den Haag, Maastricht og London. Benjamin driver risoverkstedet &soWalter (usw.), er en av grunnleggerne til @risoforeningen . In Kassel in July – collaborating and part-taking in local ecositem and nurturing trans-local reasons for working together #lumbung @ruangrupa @documentafifteen Our three spaces at Lumbung in Kassel are in good use: the Drawing and Harvesting Room at Hafenstraße, the Rural Undercurrent Vending Machines at Hübner, and our mobile Plein-Air Kit. Drawing and trading are the two constants that weave together rural undercurrents and local realities, and individual stories with collective histories. We keep harvesting and redistributing across the various ecosistems we are connected with across the school. Since the opening of Lumbung documenta, it feels like another city that has docked in Kassel. It has more access and connection routes than any other place we have ever been to. It is an amazing place. Throughout July we’ll keep making more inter-local connections, we’ll dig where we stand and honour the strength and knowledge of the many who sustain collective economies. New life cycle, ends and beginnings – the 8th June was the end of many things and today is full of new beginnings, the stars have finally aligned and change is ahead. Our beloved studio on vyner street is empty, the official end of 15 important years of studio share with Kathrin Böhm and recently also with @aurasatz . Artworks start new lives with Ouah Wau (to Donna Haraway), 2022 in Geneva, in support of different living beings, Revision part 2 in its new iteration supporting @heidelberger_kunstverein , and my drawing of Invisible Labour @villaarsonnice somehow for the 1st time for me articulating graphically the ongoing work on work… after #enzomari and the iceberg economies of #KatherineGibson via #kathrinböhm (no pics yet). After a hiatus of quite a few more years than I thought I am going back to teaching and .... appropriately taking a break from exhibitions after After Work opens @talbotricegallery on 24th. It’s going to be my 1st survey show in the UK and I’m really looking forward to it

A spread from our guest edited issue of Artist Newsletter 🌀A kinda maybe accurate collection of collectives, or at least the collectives who we know of,,,, I guess this is what our brains have looked like while putting together this issue for @anartistsinfo 😵‍💫 Bottom corner text reads —— This mind map is based on our first planning meeting for our guest edited newsletter in which we sat down as a group and attempted to reel off as many artist collectives as we could. Overall, most that sprung to mind are based in the North of England, home also to Shy Bairns, with London as a close second. The majority of collectives were duos, which prompted some conversations on whether duos are actually collectives. We decided they definitely are. It’s worth noting that the collectives listed here are people we follow on instagram, people who are friends of friends, etc. There will be infinite circles of infinite collectives, some forming right this second. There were a number of collectives originally on this list that upon further googling were discovered to be either currently defunct or actually a stage name for one solo artist. You can’t fool us, Bob and Roberta Smith. The Collectives Mind Map design was created by @izzykroese and @erinblamire using Tiddlyroam, a programme created by @jokroese 💙 As with the rest of the issue, its inspired by 2000s design and particularly the pull out posters we’d pull out and make into little shrines on our walls as kids. This is a monument to 2021 collectives ⛪️
