Synth Hang #15, hosted by @kaldi_moss at their studio, was all about spatiality and grooves. Moss set up a quad system (4 channels/speakers) in their studio, turning the jams into a surround experience, with the sound from all our instruments whizzing around the room. A detailed presentation on sound spatialisation by Moss was followed by a couple of groovy jams (with a side of samsosas, jalebis, and gin). Shout out to everyone who made it and played along! @imerohii @khusfir @saurabhlevin @kartiksudhera @mirzhamusic @khoparzi @fun_tzu @abhishek_is_on_insta @shivahuja @suvanisuri @songsforatiredcity @pranavnigam06

Elementary Forms Guild is convening a cluster of classrooms on PORTALS. Link to form in bio. A portal is a tunnel, a song, a route, a philosophy book, a threshold, a door, a love poem, a plastic keyboard, a sitcom, a to-do list, a revolution, a heartbreak, a classroom. In a time marked by conflict and fragmentation, each classroom asks how we might rehabilitate a sensitivity to difference while still holding open the possibility of shared worlds. It explores how ideas persist across contexts, not as a single master narrative, but as recurring forms that take on different lives in different conditions. These portals—philosophical, artistic, auditory, and virtual—offer not conclusions, but entry points. Each 4-hour classroom may be composed of any or all of the following: talks, screenings, listening sessions, collage-making, choreography, gossip, banter. We’ll provide the materials, chai, snacks or lunch, and resources for further exploration. These are invitations to collectively think, see and hear anew the world around us. Also thank you @rochxan

The classroom will not be annexed. The classroom will be built, rebuilt, destroyed and then begun again on the street, in the shed, in the studio, in the park, in our heads and the fucking cosmos. The Elementary Forms Guild is a response to the collapsing classroom, the broken system of knowledge making and world building, the desperate cry for thoughts, ideas, and thinking —to burnt schools and burning imaginations. It is an incremental architecture, a reluctant index of imagination, an attempt to form a body politic through thinking, reading, doing, and making. The Guild will traverse philosophy, art, architecture, anthropology, cinema, physics, law, theatre, and other fields near and far. Through interdisciplinary practices—working with sound, image, fiction, ideas, and the world around us—we seek to cultivate new pedagogies, experimental practices, and emergent publics. Our classrooms, events, and encounters will gather questions, obsessions, rumours, freedoms, virtual worlds, psychotropic fragments and other shards of impossibility to chase the future out from behind the broken legs of the past and kill and create it once again. This is a circle of friends//a street corner tea shop conversation//a shifting signifier//a new latitude// a classroom//the fellowship of the ring?// With fellow Guild makers @kaldi_moss @bulletprooflama @cityowltypes @zanskar_chaudhari @tusharmehta1 @bianca.ballantyne.studio @alo_pix @rima.ray @instaadityaa @yushtravelspvtltd_ @haunted_by_modernism #elementaryforms #guild

Surge, Live at @oddbirdtheatre 28th June 2025 What if concerts didn’t always have the same upward graph? What if there was no headliner and we all flowed into each other’s sets? At Surge, four acts appeared and reappeared - with modular pulses and ambient textures melting into field recordings, drums collapsing into drones and moments of full-blown sonic chaos. A sound steeped in Delhi’s experimental spirit. Check out the full show on our YouTube or download the audio over at @bandcamp - Link in bio. Ahead of the Bodies–Machines–Publics Open Studio, we sat down with three artists from the 2025 cohort — Cyanne van den Houten (Netherlands), Felipe González Badilla (Chile), and K Moss (India) — to hear about their evolving research, questions, and experiments at Khoj. Their practices span choreography, sonic thinking, and media art, offering a glimpse into the many ways artists are probing the shifting relationships between bodies, technologies, and public life. The Open Studio begins on 5 December, 5:30 pm onwards, and continues until 9 December. Join us for: — Performances and interactions by the resident artists on 6 & 7 December — A two-day workshop by Sundar Sarukkai on Body, Technology and the Arts on 8–9 December — registrations now open (link in bio) This is Part 1 of the conversation series — stay tuned for Part 2. Supported by the Pro Helvetia Synergies Program, the project is a collaboration between NAVE (Chile), Khoj International Artists Association (India), Immersive Arts Space/ZHdK (Zurich, Switzerland) and Kornhausforum (Bern, Switzerland). Rafa Roeder’s participation in the residency is supported by the British Council, and Cyanne van den Houten’s participation is supported by the Netherlands Embassy in India. LATITUDE 28 X India Art Fair Young Collectors Programme Architectures of Listening with Moss & Stain brought a rare sense of calm to our new space. From gentle hums to layered sonic textures, the performance invited participants to slow down, tune in, and inhabit sound with intention. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of deep listening. A special thank you to The Carpet Cellar for collaborating with us and creating the perfect setting for the evening.
