Happy to finally share a very interesting project I work for last year in Doha.
I was in charge of developing an interactive floor at M.F Husain museum in Qatar. This new museum is dedicated to the Indian painter MF Husain.
Im sharing here some documentation of the process with
@_nate_bliss_ and
@stathis_d (my bosses 👩🏻💻😍) - the stress testing (the fun) and finally a short video of the finished version of the room.
*** Tech description for the geeks that read me 😍: we have an 8 by 6 space and we are using 2 Femto megas hanging on the ceiling. All the setup, calibration and blob tracking is made in
@touchdesigner 🍌. This project was quite challaging because the floor interactive animations (6 different scenes) needed to be synced with the video animations on the wall, for this we used a Scene changer tool in touchdesigner developed by
@function.str triggered to changed scenes by OSC cues coming directly from Watchout (software in charge of walls playback) this OSC cues would cook and uncook the specific scene on the interactive floor in touchdesigner through an OSC in chop.
For the effects on the different scenes I used a mix of particles GPU, Pop’s and instances in touchdesigner.
Immensely grateful (forever) to the touchdesigner community for the amazing resources online and for the help and support during this project.
Special massive thanks to
@function.str 💜who was a consultant during the process, for his kindness and openness to share his knowledge. And to
@t3kt for the amazing resources and work on UI layouts and gadgets. If you don’t know their work , check it out :) they are both great.
