As a lot of you know I am a massive music nerd so for me this feels like a natural extension of my passion to be fronting these artists’ campaigns - so very pleased to be announcing this and to be welcomed into such a great team with Duncan as Music PR Officer ❤️

I’m a bit speechless after last night’s @balimayaproject show. We managed to sell most of the huge @barbicancentre hall out, there were standing ovations all round (both deservedly) for this spiritual odyssey through their masterpiece of an album When the Dust Settles ✨
@yahaelco you did it 🏆 No, you SMASHED it - you absolute machine. Hardest working artist I know. Leading a 24-strong ensemble, effortlessly doing a virtuosic performance yourself, all the while realising your overall artistic vision so well…there really is no other Yahael Camara Onono. It’s been such a privilege of mine to be a part of your journey!
These videos and words only get across a fraction of the joy that was experienced by all who were there last night, courtesy of this truly unique band who are capturing something so important with their work - simultaneously being custodians of their ancestors’ cultures while innovating on this deep knowing to create something completely new…and just so, so heavy ❤️🔥

*Onsen overlooking mountains, farmhouses frozen in time, ancient Samurai residences, islands with deer and shrines, autumn festivals, school children bowing to the children’s monument in Hiroshima ♡
**Osaka in general - not on the original itinerary but so glad I included it, cat temples (as seen in one of my fave films, Sans Soleil), all the bento boxes you can eat, and my last day in Tokyo - arigato @mscty_official for the brilliant sound tour as part of @tokyobiennale - perfect way to finish my time here・゜・。

It’s been 11 years since this party started, around the time I first started coming to Lisbon, so this feels very right…
I’m looking forward to geeking out heavily on my tropical music collection, from the holy (musical) trinity of Cuba, Brazil and Colombia, to the French Caribbean, and more…been listening to a lot of Dominican music recently, both old and new…let’s see…and there will be some leftfield tangents thrown in as usual 😉
