Join the Festival of ENCOUNTERS for a series of talks and participatory events hosted by authors, growers, psychotherapists, activists and architects as they examine varied relationships to land from their different perspectives.

ESEA Life Drawing - a relaxing outdoor life drawing workshop with
@esealifedrawing , a monthly gathering centred on featuring models of East and South East Asian heritage.
Babylon, Albion -
@shahedezaydi in discussion with
@dalia.aldu about her latest book. A love song to Britain, Iraq and the body of earth we hold in common as well as a compelling re-imagining of what it means to be native.
Rural Hours -
@harrietrjbaker talks to Jo Hamya about her book, which tells the stories of Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Townsend Warner and Rosamond Lehmann and how their respective moves to the English country shaped their writing, and who they became.
Common Treasures: What is the Future of Rural Communities? -
@jamesassembles and Emma Bell
@eco_land_coop discuss themes from Common Treasures, a new series of books about the challenges faced by rural communities. Including essays about climate adaptation, food production and land use.
Uprooting - Writer, psychotherapist and amateur gardener,
@afroliage , in conversation with
@edwardadonteng , about her award-winning book, Uprooting: From the Caribbean to the Countryside – Finding Home in an English Garden. A memoir about finding what ‘home’ means in the context of colonialism and the healing nature of outdoor spaces.
