Providing music for the night are Jamborazo newcomer @cyanidica and returning DJs @mugiwara_no_moe and @theehuntingdog We’re also very excited to feature a performance from the one and only @freedomimani ! MAY 1ST is the beginning of AAPI Heritage Month, and Jamborazo is celebrating by collaborating with the Viet-American publishing collective Superblooom (@sprblooom )! It’s also May Day, a day to celebrate workers and labor organizing. So there will be a lot of other orgs at the park distributing food and zines as well as teaching workshops! Superblooom’s @amplifiedheart102 🇻🇳, Revolution’s (@revolutionrva ) @sadomasokizm 🇨🇳, and professional aura farmer @lagswtch 🇵🇭 are joining resident DJ @justroyal_mst 🇭🇰🇻🇳 on the 1’s and 2’s and bringing each of their unique tastes in dance music! We’re also excited to have Superblooom editor/writer and Richmond icon @swilliamsj as our host to guide us through the evening! Our friends from @hiddentile are also bringing some mahjong tables out for some casual play! Be sure to arrive early to get a seat! We will have a zine-making station, a variety of vendors, and chalk for you to draw to your hearts content! Even if you’re not dancing there’ll be plenty to do! Introducing our DJ lineup as well as our host for the 2025 Finale! Starting out in the dance scene around the DMV, DJ Wu Styles (@wustylesupreme ) has been exploring how music moves people. From simple drum breaks to orchestral masterpieces he takes inspiration from all different edges of the musical spectrum. With a touch of humor and a whole lot of love his goal is to always make sure the dance floor is popping for dancers and bystanders alike. Representing Richmond and his dance crew @mst_804 , JustRoyal (@justroyal_mst ) started his journey with music through breakin’ (commonly known as breakdancing), and cultivated a love for hip-hop, RnB, house, funk, and disco. For the past four years, he has organized Jamborazo events with a focus on community, accessibility, and expression. With a respect for the roots of dance and club culture as well as an ear for modern sounds, JustRoyal always brings a variety influences and genres to the party. Rylo (@rylospinna ) is a Virginia-based DJ and producer. Utilizing his vast knowledge of music, his sets captivate the audience with genre bending transitions and a flare of turntablism. Returning for hosting duties from last year’s Finale is B-Boy Stream (@jaa.stream )! Breakin’ since 2012, representing his crew Code Switch, Stream blends his personality with foundation and calisthenics into his dance style. He has a deep love for all of Black culture especially under the hip-hop umbrella and is excited to share that with Jamborazo again! Returning from last year are local Richmond legends @payrentbrassband ! Catch a snippet of them from last year’s finale in the next slides! Pay Rent Brass Band is a six-piece squad from Richmond, VA, born from three roommates and their need to play whenever, wherever. The band delivers a unique take on everything from Aaliyah and Frankie Beverly to Sonic the Hedgehog, iconic anime themes, The Lion King, and holiday classics. Revealing our final exhibition battle: VA’s Bassboy (@__bassboy__ ) vs. Boston’s ILLan-Popz (@illana.popz ) These two titans are among the best poppers in the country right now, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the exchange between them! D’Andre aka Bassboy is a 22 year old dancer from Cheasapeake, Virginia. With only 3-4 years of experience with the style of popping, but 12 years of dance experience, Bassboy specializes in waving, tutting, and animation along with other sub-styles that he uses from various other dance cultures. His discipline and passion has taken him to both national and international stages including JOAT, Out of the Shadows, Waves Within, and more. Win or lose, he continue to share his artistry through the music, stages, and people. ILLana-Popz is a Boston native with over two decades in the dance scene, bringing a movement style that fuses street styles with classical training. Her approach to popping blends musicality, storytelling, and control — always rooted in feeling, not form. She represents the style of popping for the infamous Floorlords Crew, and Slaughter House Kingz & Queenz, carrying forward the legacy of intention and respect. From a 4 month tour with The Weeknd and performing at the VMAs to mentoring and building within her community, ILLana continues to move with purpose — bridging where she came from with where her branch of the culture can go. Our next battle is local VA dancer XGLIDE (@x_glide ) representing SDCVA (@subjectivedance ), L.A.C, and TRIIBE going up against Cre8ive (@cre8ive.43 ) from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! Both bring a diverse blend of influences into each of their approaches to movement artistry. XGLIDE, a dynamic hip-hop artist and choreographer, is celebrated for his unique blend of freestyle, animation, and krump. His versatility and captivating stage presence have led him to perform on prestigious stages, including the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show alongside Kendrick Lamar. He has served as both a choreographer and dancer for Rico Nasty, and also has established himself as a prominent figure in the battle scene through his advancement in Red Bull Dance Your Style qualifiers. Driven by his passion, XGLIDE continues to expand his horizons, seamlessly bridging the gap between freestyle expression and professional choreography and expanding the boundaries of what a true dancer is. Cre8ive is both a performer and instructor, teaching hip-hop choreography at Palmetto Dance Starz. With 7 years of experience in the dance world, he brings energy, creativity, and passion to every stage. Blending the smooth footwork and rhythm and bounce of Memphis Jookin’ with the versatility and power of hip-hop, Cre8ive has developed a unique style that inspires both students and audiences. Dedicated to pushing the culture forward, he continues to grow as a dancer while sharing his knowledge and love for the art with the next generation.
