PRIME TIME Squat: 235/245/250 Bench: 172.5/180x/185x Deadlift: 240/260/277.5x Total: 682.5 @ 82 🥉Male overall GL Obviously not how I would have liked the day to pan out, and losing 12.5kg off my bench press due to an easy to make error is frustrating, but that’s powerlifting. Sometimes you can have a great prep, but mistakes happen on the day of course, and in this case, I made one of ass shaking, bust it down, let me see what you’re mama made ya proportions (Butt lift on bench). Still had a lot of fun, and I’m fairly happy with how things went when considering the last time I did a three life comp was February 2025! TLDR: Squat was great, bench was like a cheating wife, deadlift was me biting off more than I could chew cos I had to. As always grateful to God for the privilege of being healthy enough and having the opportunity to compete. Grateful to my coach @jacobsofianos for the impeccable programming and sage advice and support. Grateful to @coach.vinh for the expert handling, and for backing me in. Grateful to all my mates and family who came and supported me - made the night 100x more fun! And grateful to have @tsurnami as an ever worthy competitor, congrats on the 300kg pull and the big 700 sir, can’t wait for next time 🫡 On good days and bad days, may we all remember the words of Theodore Roosevelt, that whether we win or lose, let us never be among those “cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat” See you next time ladies and gents 🎥 @thirds.co @buffdumpling

2026 WA Primetime 🏆 Primetime vibes were ON 🎰 Steph becomes the first Primetime Women’s champion, having a perfect 9/9 day and hitting a huge 212.5kg deadlift! Tsur returns to the platform after a year of building, securing a +45kg total PB, hitting his first 300kg deadlift and crossing the 700kg total line. Kelly returns to classic two weeks after winning overall equipped champion to secure podium in Primetime in a tight battle. Dimi secures a huge 20kg squat PB and pushes his total +20kg in PBs! He closes the gap on reaching the 700 total and is hungry to reach it. Xavier also returns to the platform and achieves the Nationals QT, hitting a +10kg total PB as he builds for later this year. Lucia makes her competition debut securing an all time PB Deadlift and coming very close to the QT. Already getting the itch to get back on! MJ just falls short of his best total, but knows the much more left in the tank for the platform as he builds towards the Nationals QT. Coaches @jacobsofianos @connor.ross__ Thank you to @clolieb @harry_whitfield_ @adamjones.rts @josgymthings @coach.vinh for the assists with game day! 👨‍🎨 @bhvisuals_ 📸 @thirds.co 🇦🇺 @australianpowerliftingalliance

2026 WA State Championships 🏆 Congratulations to the SC states team! Christine and Ethan made their comp debuts, with Charlotte making her 3-lift debut! Hitting PBs all round! Kim goes +22.5kg in total PBs, crossing 300kg total for the first time. James also reaches +40kg in total PBs! Josiah entered a heated battle for 1st, still walking away with a +17.5kg total PB. Jake also battling to move up the ranks secured a +12.5kg total PB. Both crossing 600kg total for the first time. The 93s were deeply competitive - Harry secured himself in second going +42.5kg in total PBs. The battle for 3rd was tight with Zac securing it on his comeback to Powerlifting, followed by Josh who was just shy of his best total but kept the fight for position & Elliot who cut back to the 93s and went +12.5kg on his best total at that weight. Alex in his second competition equalled his best day so far. Coaches @jacobsofianos @connor.ross__ 👨‍🎨 @bhvisuals_ 📸 @thirds.co 🇦🇺 @australianpowerliftingalliance

Just a little about me. It was risky, I’ve made mistakes, I’ve been exhausted. I was told it can’t be done - glad I didn’t listen. If you truely want to do something you love, I’m hoping this is your sign to work damn hard and pursue it. Cause for me, it’s 100% been worth it. Thank you @danicasofianos @strengthclubperth Over a decade in. Just the beginning.

One thing I noticed watching Sheffield on the weekend was the attitude and behaviours of these elite athletes. The big thing that stood out to me was how did these athletes react to the day not going to plan? Did they go flat? Did they use it as fire? Did they move on? There were some absolute standout performances at Sheffield, but there were also some unexpected outcomes. It’s a hard thing to move on when the start of your day hasn’t gone to plan, I’m definitely not saying it’s easy at all. One example that comes to my mind was coaching Sean at Oceania. I handled Sean a couple months earlier at Masters world with a sensational performance. The next time though it didn’t go to plan. While Sean made lifts, we did lose a couple of key kilos along the way. By the time we got to deadlift Sean just wasn’t feeling “on” at all. This happens - it’s sport. The biggest battle now wasn’t actually with Sean‘s opponent who had massively closed the gap on us, it was in Sean’s mind. It all came down to the last pull, while Sean still had a lead in second deadlift (it was very hard) his opponent loaded a very achievable attempt to beat Sean on BW. If the opponent made, Sean would have no choice but make his third attempt. Sean could’ve gone “just not my day” and checked out early in the meet. I gave Sean space and the man went to work - calm, collected, focused. His opponent misses his third. Sean didn’t realise he won, went out and hit his deadlift anyways - securing the number he would’ve needed even if his opponent made his lift. Sean’s attitude was always positive throughout the day, always backing himself in. Your attitude when things aren’t going “right” is so important - this is not just on the platform but in training too. Attitude + behaviours = outcomes It ain’t over till it’s over.
