A Look Inside The Process | WA States
While every project has its own nuances, my process is more or less the same every time I get behind the camera.
Planning goes a long way when it comes to producing high quality deliverables, in a time efficient manner for everyone involved.
First creative shoot of the year with @strengthclubperth - and definitely a highlight to start the year off.
Want to see a breakdown of how this was shot? and everything that went into making this happen? Let me know!👇
Ok so Ethan literally cooked with this edit! I had an idea and he slaaaaayed 😆💅🏾 thanks bro. You da real MVP. Had so much fun working with you @buffdumpling 🙌🏾
Peak week tings. The most I’ve hit 95kg bench confidently in a block. 100kg wasn’t there but we try again in Japan 😎 Finishing it off with a 175kg deadlift Amrap 🫰🏽

👀 A little sneak peak into what I’m currently working on for @strengthclubperth
With the neon sign in the gym, I had the idea to create a ‘flickering’ effect for the opening shot of an upcoming promo - and here’s how I did it 👇
—————————
THE SETUP & PROCESS:
- I set my camera up on the @neewer slider, which was necessary as I needed to get a repeatable shot - 1x with the sign off, and 1x with the sign on.
- In my editing software (DaVinci Resolve) I stacked the clips on one another (with the ‘on’ clip over the ‘off’ clip).
- Then, set the top clip’s blending mode to ‘lighten’ and keyframe the opacity to the desired effect.
- Finally, adding a zoom effect opposite to the motion of the slider (i.e, zooming out while the slider pans in)
Ethan @repeat.cr captured part of my prep leading into Worlds and turned it into a pretty cool video. Just a couple sessions left, and we’re good to go. Really happy with how this prep’s come together.
If you’re after powerful visuals, definitely hit up @repeat.cr .
Huge thanks to everyone who’s supported me this prep (and over the years):
@fortitudehealthaus , @stirling.physio , and @gabriellegreen_rmt for keeping on top of all the niggles.
@ross.leppala and @dieseldais_ for your coaching and guidance.
And the @strengthclubperth crew for the spotting, encouragement, and relentless yapping.
