For beginners on the design journey, or veterans.
FIRSTLY, the @abbotsfordconvent precinct is such a bloody good example of old buildings and new uses.
SECONDLY, the Melbourne Design Week program has got to be the best of its kind in the country (closest competitor?) and all major cities should do it to support their creatives and design industries. Kudos @ngvmelbourne and the supporting bodies.
THIRDLY, chairs are relatable. Everyone understands the function of a chair. Which is WHY this exhibition rocks cause everyone can see when the designer is breaking or reinforcing something.
FOURTHLY, a lot of the design is a little SILLY. A little PLAYFUL. A breath of ridiculous joy.
I swear Melbourne Design Week is the best time of year in this city.
I picked up a copy of this little design publication when I was in the @aesop Flinders Lane store, the original fit out was done by legendary @march_studio back in 2007.
