Architect (Melbourne) ROLE We are seeking an Architect with a strong design sensibility and a deep interest in contemporary design technologies. This role is suited to an Architect who combines a critical eye with the ability to explore, resolve and communicate complex architectural ideas through advanced digital tools. While this is not a specialist “computational designer” role, experience with parametric and computational workflows is highly valued, as it often underpins the type of design thinking, rigour and efficiency we are looking for. A strong working knowledge of AI tools within the architectural design space is also highly desirable. You will work closely with project leaders and design teams across all stages of a project, contributing to concept development, design resolution, and representation. You will also play an active role in advancing design-related efficiencies within the practice, exploring how emerging software and workflows can meaningfully support architectural outcomes. KEY REQUIREMENTS Contribute to architectural design and documentation across concept, design development and delivery phases Develop and communicate complex design ideas through advanced digital modelling, visualisation and documentation tools Use parametric, computational and generative workflows where appropriate to support design exploration and efficiency Apply AI-based tools to assist with design, iteration, analysis and representation Identify opportunities for improving design workflows, processes and efficiencies through technology Research, test and introduce new software, tools or workflows relevant to architectural design Collaborate with project teams to integrate advanced digital approaches into broader design processes TO APPLY For more about us and role, see our link in bio (wardle.studio/contact/opportunities) Please email [email protected] ensuring that you clearly identify the role you are applying for in the subject line and provide a clear indication on your availability.

Opened in late February, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Has consolidated their Melbourne services to a central CBD location at 300 La Trobe Street. Wardle has refreshed eight levels of a 1990’s tower, providing updated access and services to Melbournians. The new headquarters offers contemporary hearing and mediation rooms and waiting areas featuring advanced digital capabilities for hearing, mediation and remote witnesses. Importantly VCAT now integrates legal and support services such as Victorian Legal Aid, State Trustees and the Office of the Public Advocate in the one building. VCAT CEO, Fiona Chamberlain, says the new venue will equip VCAT to meet the diverse and changing needs of the community. “VCAT service users are at the heart of what we do. The building has been designed in consultation with service users and staff to help us deliver an accessible, welcoming and comfortable space for people accessing our services and support.”
