It’s been a wild year! We released a new record after five years of relative dormancy, played all around the country, and got to see loads of friends, old and new. @andyeffinthomas and @false_cathedrals - I love you guys, and it’s a continual pleasure to get to make music with you. Shoutout to longtime homies, @goyaband as well- @creepshowens , @marcusbbryant , and @bulbasaurus_warriors , you guys rule, and it was a dream to tour with you again.
Thanks as well to all of you who picked up “A Crack in Everything”, came to our shows, or ordered any merch from us- your support is crucial for DIY bands such as ourselves. Kudos as well to @decibelmagazine for including us in their annual best-of list, and anyone else who was kind enough to include us in their year-end rankings. We put a lot of passion into our work, and this was a particularly harrowing record for me, so it is deeply meaningful for us when what we do resonates with folks. Thanks!

What a pleasure to get to shoot these guys all the time. I feel lucky to have been afforded the opportunity to hone my skills for live photography on them. I continue to learn a lot, and I know my weaknesses, as well as some of my strengths. A lot of progress was made in my photo education/experience. The main thing k learned is that I have a lot to learn. Thank you, Grant. Thank you, Ben. Thank you, Andy. I hope I get the chance to follow you around like this again!
One note I would like to make is that I shot Ben at the same moment on a lot of nights. It’s cool to follow a band and learn the moments in their set that something photogenic happens, and there are two moments in “Buzzard Logic” that are great opportunities, so if you see a lot of Ben looking hyped here, well, that’s because he knows what he’s doing, when to do it, and how to do it!
Once again, all scanned and developed at @wilson.camera with these being a mix of shots on a Nikkormat FT2 and a point and shoot To Be Continued. All on Portra 800, I believe, though there may be a couple on Portra 400. I still have over 200 photos left from tour to go through, so forgive my uncertainty!

IN THE COMPANY OF SERPENTS
These are just a few of the shots I took of this incredible band. After almost twenty years of touring, it takes a lot for me to say I loved seeing a band every night, and ITCOS are a lot in that way. Not only are they terrific as musicians, but these are three people that are a pleasure to be around. I think we all saw each other at personal highs and lows. I can’t say how I was perceived in those lows, but I can say I was never anything less than stoked to be around Grant, Ben, and Andy. I hope for many more years of friendship with each of them.
Slides 1-9 are shot on a Nikkormat FT2 loaded with Portra 800, and all take at our show in LA at The Moroccan Lounge. 10-14 are shot on a TBC point and shoot (that I think is maybe malfunctioning in a way I like), also loaded with Portra 800.
