𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 - 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹, 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 ​ ​What happens when contemporary art becomes part of a wellness & hospitality experience ? ​ ​We revisited a project we did for @canaan_hotel_ in Safed , where @fattal_hotels curator @irisuli together with @veredgadish (Fireflies Project), developed a curatorial concept in response to Canaan hotel brief : a spa and wellness destination located in the historic city of Safed, in the north of Israel. ​ ​The title's art project “Four Crafts” drew inspiration from the rich tradition of craft and artisan practice that flourished in Safed during the 16th century. ​ ​Working with artists and designers, they selected artworks and also commissioned site specific works rooted in manual techniques and tactile materials. ​Among them were embroidery and hand pierced paperwork, multilayered color and plaster works, photocollage, etching, pencil and oil drawing, textile works, and handmade porcelain sculpture. ​ ​Integrated with the interior design, the artworks created moments of pause and contemplation within the hotel spaces. Guests were invited to slow down, look closely, and experience the tactility of materials, the delicacy of technique, and the virtuosity of the imagery. ​ ​A thoughtful example of how professionally curated art can shape the atmosphere of a hospitality environment and contribute to a memorable guest experience. ​ ​This project was part of an ongoing collaboration between Fattal Hotels and the @dubishiffartcollection . ​ ​Architect and interior design by @efrat_kisoss_architecture ; photos by @ayabenezri_photographer ​ ​#artconsulting ​#hospitality ​#contemporaryart ​#firefliesproject

Origin, נביעה Charcoal on Fabriano paper, 260x150 cm, 2021 In 2021 during my masters degree @bezalel.mfa , visions of multi-headed snakes were appearing in my dreams. I began drawing these dreams in wet and dry charcoal, following the paths of internal feminine movement these visions were enhancing in my body. The cradle of the snakes continuously infused my studio with a deep feeling of protection and vitality as I started my research on the cultural origins of these multi-headed slithering creatures.  Now installed at the lounge entrance of the new “Reception Hotel” in Tel Aviv. This drawing is inspired by Naga, a guardian of sacred spaces in ancient Khmer culture. A symbol of protection, transformation, and the bridge between the earthly and the divine.
 The drawing unites both feminine and masculine qualities, reflecting duality as a source of creation and renewal. The figurative presence of the guardian sculpture, set within an abstract dreamscape of imagined architecture, opens space for internal exploration and imaginative activation. It welcomes guests into an environment that balances inner strength, harmony, and a sense of nurturing ease. העבודה הקפלה של רותקו היא עבודת מפתח לכל העבודות שיצרתי מאז. היא הוצגה לראשונה אי שם ב־2017 בתערוכה “פאראגונה” שאצרה הגר בריל. והיום אני נרגשת וגאה לשתף שחלק ממנה מוצב כעת במלון The Reception, באוצרות הרגישה ומלאת הלב של איריס ברק. המלון, שעבר תהליך שימור מחמיר, הוא מפעים ובקרוב יפתח, והעבודה ניצבת מול ספסל עץ מופלא ששרד כל השנים ועבר שימור מוקפד מה אגיד? הלב מתפוצץ משמחה עבודה נוספת שתלויה במלון היא פרט מתוך פרויקט דלת הזזה, שהוצג בשנת 2019 במשכן האמנים בהרצליה, באוצרותו של רן קסמי־אלין הנדיר. באמת תודה ענקית לאיריס על ההזמנה, האמון והאפשרות ולנטלי המופלאה צילום במלון: מאיה אבגר @irisuli @tiznenko_inc

𝗔 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲-𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 by @sitarbalaban for @canaan_hotel_ , in collaboration with @irisuli ​ ​We first saw Balaban's work at her BFA grads show at @bezalel_ceramics_glass (2022) and were immediately taken by 'Stars', her beautiful glass mobile installation. ​ ​When the right project came along, we knew that Balaban’s Stars would fit perfectly. ​The work was modified and adjusted to complement the high ceiling and the spacious back wall of the hotel lobby. ​ ​Since the lobby was already well designed by @efrat_kisoss_architecture , Balaban’s Stars were placed high above — accentuating the height, adding air, space, and a magical feel. ​ ​Inside each glass shape are embedded Balaban’s memories of the crocheted doilies made by her grandmother. The original crochets were scanned and printed on the glass. Interwoven with these are her memories of her grandfather’s stories. ​ ​“My grandfather took me to the lawn next to their house; we lay on our backs side by side, and he pointed to the stars above us. I never really grasped how that particular collection of stars made the shape of a bear, or where the smaller one was supposed to be. But my grandfather wasn’t going to let that one pass, insisting that I learn to see, until my patience would run out. Eventually I would nod and confirm my recognition.
