🏛🗣️We’re bringing the voices and priorities of Black, Latine, and AANHPI women to Capitol Hill. At our congressional briefing earlier this week, @intersectionsofourlives @latinainstitute @napawf @blackwomensrj and Ipsos shared new polling on how women of color are experiencing affordability, health care, democracy, and reproductive freedom. 📊 The findings are clear: More than half of women of color say the American Dream feels out of reach — and nearly 9 in 10 are worried about affording basic needs. Our communities are navigating rising costs, barriers to care, attacks on reproductive freedom, and efforts to silence our votes — all at once. Black, Latine, and AANHPI women do not live single-issue lives, and policy solutions cannot be single-issue either.  That is why we are grateful to the Reproductive Justice Task Force, @demwomencaucus @officialcapac and @hispanic.caucus @repemiliasykes @repemilyrandall and @repjudychu for making this briefing possible and standing with us.  Together, we are making our voices heard: #ReproductiveJustice must be front and center in addressing the issues women of color are navigating every day. @lupemrodriguez @reginadavismoss @janelle.a.james

Rep @repemilyrandall ’s powerful remarks on the importance of intersectional advocacy in building a more sustainable, equitable, and whole healthcare system. Yesterday’s conversation centered the voices and lived experiences of women of color at a time when healthcare, reproductive freedom, economic security, and democracy itself are deeply interconnected and under siege. Grateful to Intersection of Our Lives’ for partnering with the @hispanic.caucus on this briefing and everyone who helped bring this important dialogue to Congress!

Our latest research is confirming what Black women already know: The barriers we face are deeply connected. When nearly 9 in 10 women of color are concerned about affording basic needs and only 6% of Black women believe the government is doing a good job of making it affordable to raise children, high prices are not just an economic issue. They are a public health issue. Our own @reginadavismoss spoke with @zerlinamaxwell about the latest findings from @intersectionsofourlives , and the data is clear: you can’t have economic justice without Reproductive Justice. When Black women thrive, everyone thrives. Dr. @reginadavismoss , President and CEO of @blackwomensrj , was recently interviewed by Repro Rights NOW author @codypat13 to talk about what it means to be a woman of color in this moment. New polling from @intersectionsofourlives , @blackwomensrj , @napawf , and @latinainstitute shows that 70% of Black women in the US are deeply pessimistic about the direction of the country – and for good reason. And still — Black women continue to show up at the polls, even when policy systems fail to show up for them. When nearly 9 in 10 women of color are worried about meeting their basic needs, this is not just an economic issue — it’s also a health issue. To earn our votes, candidates must meet this moment with solutions that reflect the full scope of our lives through a reproductive justice lens. Read the full article at the link in our bio

I created this series in collaboration with @amplifierart and @intersectionsofourlives , extending ideas from my @matinggames project into a broader conversation around reproductive justice, care, and collective power. These works are part of a larger initiative led by @latinainstitute , @napawf , and @blackwomensrj , centering the lived realities of women of color and gender-expansive communities. This series connects to my ongoing @matinggames work, exploring bodies, autonomy, desire, and the systems that shape our reproductive choices. The stakes show up in access to healthcare, economic freedom, and the ability to build a life on your own terms. To learn more or support the work, follow @intersectionsofourlives and @amplifierart . Thank you @amplifierart for including me in yet another powerful project. ⚡

Swipe through to see the reality women of color are living right now ➡️ 📊 More than half say the American Dream is out of reach — and 9 in 10 are worried about affording basic needs. We partnered with Ipsos to release new polling that shows that rising costs, lack of representation, and barriers to care are shaping how Black, Hispanic, and AANHPI women are thinking about their futures — and their votes. But there’s also a clear path forward: When women have the freedom to make decisions about their lives, they thrive. 💼 70% say reproductive autonomy supports career success 💵 62% say it strengthens financial stability With the 2026 midterms ahead, the message is simple: Listen. Invest. Deliver — on the full scope of what reproductive justice actually means. Economic security shapes freedom. The ability to make decisions about our bodies, our health, and our futures is deeply connected to how much money we earn, housing we can afford, healthcare costs, and access to opportunity. Pay inequity and economic instability disproportionately impact women of color, immigrant communities, and gender expansive people — limiting access to care, safety, and long-term stability. Reproductive justice means economic justice. It means fair wages, accessible childcare, affordable housing and healthcare, and the ability to build a future without being forced into survival mode. At this moment, many people are evaluating leadership through the lens of the economy. But the economy is not abstract. It is lived and measured in real costs: the cost to people and communities; the water we drink; the Land that sustains food and medicine; the caretakers who protect these resources on behalf of humanity; and the public Lands that shelter and sustain animal life. Our current economy extracts labor and natural resources, what we need is an economy built on care. Care for ourselves, our families, and our communities. On Equal Pay Day, we move beyond awareness and into action— committing to learn, to share knowledge, and to advocate for policies that deliver real economic equity for all women and gender-expansive people, with particular urgency for women of color, who continue to bear the greatest burden of pay inequity. Recent polling from @IntersectionsofOurLives shows that nearly 90% of women of color view voting as extremely or very important—and majorities of Black (65%), Latine (64%), and AAPI (62%) women see voting as essential to creating the change they want. Their urgency reflects lived realities: a maternal health crisis, rising anti-immigration rhetoric, deep economic inequities, and court decisions that undermine reproductive and immigrant justice. A healthy democracy is essential to reproductive justice. Communities most impacted by policy decisions must have power in shaping them. Voting is not a love story, it is a strategy and one crucial tool in our toolbox. This is an election year. There will be coordinated efforts to maintain power and suppress participation. The full Reproductive Justice Policy Agenda was developed by Intersections of our Lives to understand what becomes possible when these policies are enacted: a society where women, girls, and gender-expansive people of color have the freedom, resources, and protection to live safe, healthy, and thriving lives. This policy agenda offers a clear roadmap for policymakers to transform care, access, and dignity into law. ▪️Register early. ▪️Make a voting plan. ▪️Ensure your friends and family are registered. ▪️Vote local. #IntersectionsOfOurLives #reproductivejustice Slide one artwork by @beeharris Slide two artwork by @theunapologeticstreetseries Slide three artwork by @celestialterrestrial | @matinggames Slide four artwork by @camixvx Slide five artwork by @metztli_citlali_invent

Care holds our communities together and yet care work remains some of the most undervalued labor in our society. From midwives, doulas, birth workers, abortion providers to caregivers supporting elders, to parents raising children, to community members holding each other through crisis, care is infrastructure. It is survival and love in action. We are living through a moment where systemic harm and state violence are impacting communities at scale. Now more than ever, we must care for each other and we must uplift and protect care workers. Reproductive justice requires a world where care work is recognized, protected, and resourced. Where people can make decisions about their bodies, families, and futures without being forced into impossible economic choices. On International Women’s Day, we honor the women who are building the future in real time through the launch of a new art series with @intersectionsofourlives 🔊🔊🔊 Across the United States and in many communities around the world, access to healthcare is being restricted. Economic pressure is shaping who can build families and who cannot. Communities are being forced to navigate systems that were never designed for their safety, dignity, or survival. The stakes are not theoretical. They are lived, every day. @IntersectionsofOurLives was created because this moment demands clarity, courage, and collective action and is being led by three national reproductive justice organizations working in deep partnership and collaboration: @latinainstitute @napawf + @blackwomensrj Together, they built a comprehensive policy vision affirming the quality of life of gender expansive and women of color rooted in: ✨Healthy Body ✨Healthy Families and Communities ✨Healthy Democracy International Women’s Day is not symbolic. It is a reminder that rights are won, protected, and expanded through collective action. to carry this vision beyond policy spaces, we partnered with six visionary artists to translate these realities into visual storytelling — because culture shapes what policy makes possible.
