Really thought this cat had a few more lives left in him. 💔
Having a baby has made my sentimental soul even more sentimental. I constantly feel weak in the knees thinking about time and its implications of inevitable grief.
So yeah, sad — big, hole-in-the-heart sad that Milo’s gone. Grateful, of course, for his companionship and the joy and humor. Slapped in the face by how painful endings are.
😿
In a way Milo always felt more like a roommate (like, a really pervy one). He kinda just came and went as he pleased. So I suppose it was not unlike him to go on his way before any of us were ready. Never met a cat like him before, and probably never will. 🫶
Hey friends! I have some work showing this weekend as part of the @b_la_m_ festival in Mexico City.
.
These works will be in two separate shows, both taking place at El Hub (Calle de Mesones 86). The openings are tonight. If you’re in CDMX, go check it out!! 😘
Honored to have a work in this exhibition in Hangzhou “Because of Sanyu” / 因為常玉
…
Curated by Yao Qian, the exhibition is set in a century-old house in the Xixi Wetland, and begins with a photograph of Sanyu’s lost Four-Panel Screen with Lotus.
..
The show opens a dialogue between more than thirty works by Sanyu and new creations by contemporary artists.
..
My contribution is a work that is part of my on-going series An Archaeology of You, which proposes “you” as both the site and the subject of an archaeological study. The text in the postcard is from Bolaño, describing the disquiet of being in a foreign land—a feeling that Sanyu himself surely experienced. The postcard rests among collected objects in the home of my mother, who has spent many years reconstructing Sanyu’s previously little-known life and work. These layered subjectivities—of poet, painter, mother, and daughter—form a narrative that does not attempt to tell history, but instead to create a space of resonance, where memory and absence coexist.

Last month, SAP Space had the pleasure of participating in @juxtaposeartfair in Aarhus. It was a really special experience to convene with so many other artists run spaces, and to meet the lovely and generous organizers and participants.
The presentation at Juxtapose brings the garden literally into the expansive exhibition space of Rå Hal in Aarhus, positioning it not only as a boundaried site of display but also as a reminder that the garden is always, in some sense, a fiction — a constructed reference to nature or wilderness shaped by human hands. In this way, the garden becomes a speculative space: a site of intervention and projection, where desires, utopias, and memories are cultivated as deliberately as the plants themselves.
Presenting artists:

This was our last event before going on parental leave. SAP Space is currently undergoing a little re-organization, with the aim to become a more collective organization. Reach out if you want to learn more about our re-org. Otherwise, see you all on the flip side! 🥰
💗Been cookin up something fun/scary/surreal/beautiful over here. Still can’t get over how shocking yet mundane growing human life is.
… Next step: figure out how to get this thing from inside my body to outside my body in a couple of months. Yikes.
…
Also this process has been nuts. 2 years of fertility treatments, more than 100 eggs surgically removed from my body, 1 miscarriage, and so so many needles (goodbye life-long needle phobia), tears, hormonal ups-and-downs… but grateful for what modern medicine can do for my geriatric, gin-soaked eggs... (if anyone wants to chat infertility, hit yo girl up.)
…
Setting up my camera and lights was fun and all, but I couldn’t have done it without the genetic material of @johannesknall , the impromptu prop styling by @armenian_nose and the post shoot meal by in-Haus chef de steak @ajburford
