The Miracle uses contemporary, physical and wildly exuberant clown storytelling that complicates
genre and gender boundaries while charmingly inviting the audience to expand their own freedom.
Absurd, surprising, playful and fun, the show embarks on a search for myth-enshrouded, queer-
feminist ancestors from a not-so-distant past, whose knowledge of the miraculous power of ambiguity and humor wants to be rediscovered! As Sister Mary Wendy, Olivia Platzer draws on a rich
canon full of wild women and genderqueer pioneers— from Baubo, who reveals her vulva to the depressed goddess Demeter to cheer her up and thus end a global famine, to the popular saint Wilgefortis, who as a crucified virgin with a beard became the patron saint of women in distress.
The Miracle tells of a community in which non-conformity, not conformity, is sacred.

I had the pleassure to be the video artist for this piece and got to work with the loveliest, most brilliant and talented people.
In "Ich summe, um das Bersten zu übertönen" beobachten wir unsere Körper und Beziehungen in einem Moment erstarkender totalitärer Kräfte. Wir erleben, wie sich die Risse in und um uns vergrößern. Wir spulen vor und zurück, um zu verstehen: Wie lange sind die Risse schon da? Reichen sie so tief, dass sie bereits selbst zum Lebensraum geworden sind? Ist das Haus, in dem wir leben, vielleicht schon seit seinem Bau eine Ruine?

KHM Graduation Year: 2016
Ale Bachlechner (Cologne/Vienna) got her diploma from KHM in 2016. Sie works with video and performance, often circling the topic of communication and affect. Central aspects are the examination of theory, literature, text and language as well as physicality, gender and performance for the camera. Her works have been shown e.g. at Videonale, EMAF and DokFest Kassel.
CRYING AND LYING
Crying and lying are two activities to reliably ruin your life. Strikingly, they are often associated with femininity. The performance casts a spotlight on some intricacies of intergenerational trauma and the narrative dimensions of the family. Tightly interlacing live performance and prerecorded video Ale Bachlechner admits publicly her strong craving for dramaturgy in life. The concept of a hopefully quick, linear and progressive succession of milestones in your so called private life and career is countered by the figure of the late bloomer who hits them late, in the wrong order or never.

Die FORWARD DANCE COMPANY arbeitet in Sprache, Sound und Bewegung daran ihr neues Tanzstück für blindes und sehbehindertes Publikum zugänglicher zu machen. Sie lädt ein zu einem Experiment: Neben dem visuell Gezeigtem soll eine eigenständige auditive Ebene entstehen, die für sich wahrnehmbar ist und stellenweise mit der visuellen Ebene zusammenfließt. Hier könnt ihr schon mal hören, worum es geht!

The FORWARD DANCE COMPANY is working with language, sound, and movement to make its piece more accessible to blind and visually impaired audiences. It invites you to take part in an experiment: in addition to the visual elements, an independent auditory score is being created that can be experienced on its own and, in places, merges with the visual images. Here you can hear what it’s all about!

Beats without a grid, handmade and breathing. This EP unfolds like a living forest full of audible but invisible creatures. Everything feels improvised, yet every pause and movement is intentional. These little soundworlds are something unique and immersive but you can nod your head to it too.
Ale: “My lofi attempt at a visual album circles around the capacity to affect and be affected. It arranges crows, crabs, trees, fun rides, car rides and bike rides incidentally captured by mobile phone as fragments of the ebb and flow of intensities of common experiences. Textures, surfaces and the different modes and qualities of looking at things connect with the intricacies of Julian’s music.”

Another year, another brilliant @blondecobra.festival !
This year they decided to show one of the first video works I made at KHM (more than 10 years ago!!). Filming was a two-women-project in a quite remote area in Mexico, together with my dear friend and star of stage and screen @olivia.platzer . Music and sound design by Jonathan Kastl(all the dialog was later re-recorded at the studio in Cologne), animations by Aaron Jablonski and color grading by @paulfaltz .
