We met on Bra Boys over 20 years ago Michael Lawrence and Macario de Souza and despite moving up to Brisbane in 2010 both these guys have invited me back on board projects but @inpiecestogether_film has been a very special one heading up strategy and Impact for @kid_mac for many reasons - but the main one is the people - the team - have loved getting to know these amazing humans and for such an important and powerful project highlighting mental health and the impact of suicide.
Film is a funny industry but the friends I’ve made have lasted decades - so good to hug and work with so many including @nashedgerton , Adam Natalie @theeventdepartment
Amazing @hyperepublic team Allan and Jarred legend @blakeyjohnston as well as amazing woman @laurenjohnston123 J and his beautiful family - Ben J and family and the coolest social engineers in the world Tori and Hamish from @wearecalamity_

Ciao Cortina 🏔️⛷️🎿🚡❄️☃️🏂 arrivederci Venezia
🥰First time seeing snow for the girls so cool to witness first time skiing in 23 years for me - the very chic ski resort Cortina d’Ampezzo in the Dolomites. One of the last things on the list Jason & I made together for our wishlist but now for different reasons. Yet to witness it actually snowing which is weird considering snow and ice scenarios in UK where we just left and Paris where we head on Saturday - what can I say we’re bringing the sunshine ☀️ on the surface this may look like pretty pictures from holiday getaways.
How lucky we are - yes but it is intentional grieving.
🥹 Hopefully the girls cherish & grow from all these trips & new memories, challenges & adventures I have made an effort to create for them since J died. Ways for them to evolve, bond, build emotional adaptability, confidence, courage & resilience, through the unfamiliar, challenges that arise & understanding other cultures.
Can’t pretend it’s easy (or as fun) solo without J but I am choosing to grieve in full colour, invest in our collective present, putting all I’ve got into providing opportunities to broaden horizons, keep hearts & mind open to joy & curiosity - hopefully ensure sibling & family connection, good emotional wellbeing & their own positive future relationships.
🫶🏼Anyone who has gone through what we have gone through knows the death of a parent as a child and long time husband shatters worlds and sense of self into smithereens - connection obliterated - floating without anchor - before even rebuilding it is about having the energy to dig through the ashes & ruins around you to find the fragments & as a mother to find them for your children too. Tiny pieces of themselves, scraps of fabric & shiny glass that can help create a mosaic path back to soul so they can recreat . Creating language & the words to interact with the harsh world around you that bears no resemblance to the world you once felt safe in. FInding courage to venture out of your bubble, your home, to face & deal with your new world, with a sand timer already running out of society’s patience to be softer towards you.

2025 it’s been a jam-packed pick ‘n mix lots of highs, milestones, wins, lows and losses but the end of the year has definitely ended with magic memories, offline adventures.
Took the girls back to where it all began in Hong Kong - where their grandparents met, their dad was born and lived. Then first Christmas with their UK cousins and Steele family. My first northern hemisphere winter in 25 years. Onto Venice to being in NY Jase and I were going to visit for our 30th wedding anniversary. 2 weeks down- 2.5 to go and 2 more destinations.
And yes this is an amazing trip but more than that, it is specifically designed to support my children and I through grief and healing, honouring J and what they have lost, his legacy and history, maintaining strong ties with his family, creating new memories and connection as a family of three and ensuring my children remain open to new adventures and know that they can handle themselves out in the big wide world. I am choosing to prioritise our collective present rather than my solo future.

Surprised her with a stay at the iconic Raffles … there’s a reason it’s considered one of the best hotels in the world. Unforgettable experience.
