@iamsylviarhone Congratulations on such an incredible legacy. Youâve truly set the bar high for the type of leader and visionary we could all only aspire to be!
Thank you for being the woman that you are - the leader, the icon, the trailblazer, the mentor, and most importantly, a friend. As Will.I.Am so eloquently stated, youâve ushered a path for so many people to materialize their dreams, and Iâm truly honored and grateful to have been one of them.
Youâve made the impossible happen time and time again, and youâve always expected the same greatness from everyone around you. Iâve learned so much from working with you - that people can only stop you if you let them, that you keep moving no matter what, and the lesson I hold closest to my heart, the one I still live by every day: âFIGURE IT OUT.â
đ„ Cheers to paving the way so that so many of us could âFIGURE IT OUTâ!
Congratulations and I canât wait to see what you do next.
I Love you immensely! â€ïž

I remember seeing this billboard on the westside highway back in 2004. I stopped, took a pic, and lived by this motto ever since. #impossibleisnothing
The first article is from earlier this year written for @thehouse_magazine and the last is the write up for Fana Huesâ documentary I directed, which premiered on VICE @noisey (link in bio)
We lost him, back in November, a few days after the first interview for my current job, which relocated me to LA. I remember telling them that I wouldnât be able to leave at the moment bcz he wasnât doing well. Coming back home is always nostalgic, but this time around heâs been on my mind heavy. He comes to mind pretty often on my drive to work as I see the Hollywood sign or while Iâm on set and Iâll laugh remembering the times heâd tell me to âget a real jobâ đ or when heâd recount the fact that he had $1.50 in his pocket when he got to this country for the 100th time. I will always cherish the memories I had with him; from trips to PR, McDonaldâs every Wednesday after school in Brooklyn, and his response to finding out I was gay âleave him alone, let him be happyâ.
This man led by example and demonstrated consistency, honesty, and love. Miss you papĂĄ. #mywhyâ€ïžđ”đ·
