Four years on, we’re celebrating the way it deserves — by inviting the crews who’ve helped shape the DBA into what it’s become. They’ve held down their own room at DBA NYE, brought the sunshine with Climaxxx while fundraising for the PAʻI Foundation, and proven that trance has a home in Manchester. Last weeks event alongside @selektmt was The DBA in all its wonderful glory. Beautifully talented DJs, a super friendly and welcoming crowd, and an incredible team behind the scenes - from the bar staff, venue management, door team, security, welfare, liaisons, sound techs and more - making it all possible. There’s now just one more sleep until we give @selektmt a proper Manchester welcome at the place we call home, our beloved DBA. The collective, spearheaded by @aspekthedip and @etched_mlt AKA Parallel Motive, have been active in the underground techno scene of Malta for over 7 years, and have made significant contributions to building the tight-knit techno community within the Maltese islands. Our collaboration in September was an incredible 24 hour adventure in a location that will forever remain undisclosed, but witnessing the Maltese community come together to make that event possible was an inspiring experience, and one we are very grateful to have been a part of. We spoke with the co founders to offer some insights into how Selekt came to be, its ethos, and goals with the collective. Parallel Motive open the bar at 14:00 tomorrow afternoon. Dedication and research are the values characterising @djplanttexture as a musician. Having a background in drums, percussion and keyboard studies, Dona soon found his own path experimenting with machines. Constantly looking to redefine his barriers and enhance his sound design skills, Dona has been plumbing the depths of electronic music, ranging from Jungle and Drum Bass to Acid and Techno, bypassing through Ambient and Electronics. If there’s one thing to expect with DJ Plant Texture tomorrow evening, it’s an education in music from one of its most passionate and dedicated followers.

Limón is a Maltese DJ and producer with over a decade immersed in the electronic music scene. His journey began as an event promoter, helping shape the island’s underground culture before stepping forward as an artist in his own right. Known for his versatility, Limón moves fluidly between hypnotic techno and groove-driven house, always guided by a deep understanding of rhythm, space, and dancefloor energy. His productions released on @chain_records_mlt , where he is now a core member, and Diffuse Reality-blend dubby minimal textures with rolling, driving grooves that reflect both depth and intention. Whether behind the decks or performing live, Limón focuses on crafting immersive sonic journeys that prioritize connection, atmosphere, and flow. As his sound continues to evolve, he remains rooted in the underground-where rhythm leads and versatility defines the experience. Bollibubbles is a Manchester raised and Nigerian born multidisciplinary artist. She is no stranger to the dance floor, often seen leading by example at HØL and many other Manchester parties, with her infectious energy and enthusiasm for music and community. She has also wowed dance floors as an artist across some of the most well respected Manchester parties, such as Bent, Meat Free, Freak Queer Rave, Homobloc, and Club Sodom. This time, though, it’s Bollibubbles’ time to shine on her HØL debut as she takes firm control of the garden for 3 hours. In her own words, ‘there’s gonna be some horny ass shaking f*ckery 🥵😈🤭’

And so here we are, just a few days away from one of the most anticipated sets ever at HØL or The DBA. Kessie and Matrixxman very kindly offered some words looking ahead to Saturday, featuring a funny story of what Matrixxman experienced on his first visit to The DBA, how the b2b came to be, a few words to tease what to expect come 13:00 on Saturday afternoon, and more. Based in Manchester UK, Concierge has been richly submerged in musical prowess given the city’s past and present reputation for producing popular figures across a whole spectrum of genres. The culture of dance music is deeply rooted within the northwest region of the UK, providing a healthy platform to nurture artistic development. The evolution of dance carries a lot of weight on the city’s history which Concierge uses to drive his productions and performances, moulding his style to forge a modern perspective on Techno whilst retaining its core aesthetic. He navigates through a variety of textural, rough and ethereal landscapes to highlight his dynamic ability to incorporate an expansive range of techno (and more), placing them into a coherent narrative which glues his modernistic outlook on raw techno. His string of self-releases, Duplicity, Obskura, Crown, 01366 and forthcoming EP’s illustrates the amalgamation of influence from his environment. Holding residency at Iniquity & Formation (FKA The Bakery) in Liverpool provides a regular export to share hours of carefully choreographed dance cuts. This is a HØL debut we have been planning for a while. On Saturday night, his extended closing set will reveal exactly why. @yazminn.______ is a techno DJ and producer from Malta, recognised for her melodic, dark sound rooted in raw and deep techno. Her passion for electronic music developed at an early age, shaped by the energy of the underground scene around her. As a resident DJ at Glitch Festival, Yazmin has performed at a range of renowned events both locally and internationally, including Boiler Room, Tillatec in Amsterdam, and Duel Club in Italy. Alongside her DJ career, she has released music on respected labels such as Hardgroove, Soma, GRÜV, and South Signatures Records, further establishing her presence within the techno scene. Driven by creativity and constant evolution, Yazmin continues to push her boundaries, showcasing versatility and artistry in every performance, and The DBA awaits for Yazmin in what will be her UK debut.

Anyone who came to our September 2024 edition of HØL at The DBA will remember the @polyoneaudio soundsystem we had outside in the garden, with @april__bm and @miguelcolell serving up the goods back then. After the huge success of that event, we decided to invite them back next weekend, and spoke to them recently to provide some insights into the collective. @bollibubbles and @_el_limon__ will be in charge of the garden this time round, which will be live from 3pm-9pm. One more week to go…

This one’s been a long time coming. You all know him. He needs absolutely no introduction whatsoever. The King of London joins us next weekend for his debut HØL set. Get involved next Saturday.
