Two months to go until the first edition of Higher Fields Festival, a brand-new outdoor music event in the heart of Sheffield’s S2.
Line-up announcements drop this week, and tickets are on sale now via Resident Advisor
We’ve been quietly squirreling away in the background over the last few months since announcing the festival, now we’re ready to shed some light on what to expect…
The first edition of the festival will take place on Randall Street, Sheffield (S2).
The road will be closed to traffic, with three daytime stages spread along the road, plus food and drink available throughout the day from 12:00 until 02:00. Once on site, you’ll be free to explore all the venues.
As the sun goes down, the party will move indoors, more details on that, along with the afterparty lineup, coming soon…
Tickets are split into day and night options, with a pay-what-you-feel structure ranging from low-income to Tier 4 supporter. We’re also offering day/night combo tickets, afterparty-only tickets, and free under-18 tickets (valid with an accompanying adult aged 18+).
We’ve deliberately kept ticket prices as low as possible, and need to sell nearly all of them to guarantee breaking even. We’re running with a tiny pool of funding, so purchasing a ticket early is the best way of showing support, and special thanks to those who already have.
The full lineup will be announced over the next week, and we can’t wait to share it with you all!
Big love to all the partners helping make this happen.
See you on 27th June.

Here it is in all its glory - the full lineup for our debut festival this June!
Massive thanks to all of our partners and collaborators for helping make this happen, and a special shoutout to @iam_chriscooper for absolutely nailing the artwork.
We’ve still got plenty more to announce, including food vendors, stalls and more surprises over the coming weeks.
We’re getting very excited now, see you in June 🌞
DIY culture in Sheffield goes way beyond music and no one proves that better than the best boys in town, @bestboybagels
These guys sling bread with holes in faster than any hot cakes and their Abbeydale Road premises has quickly become a local institution.
We’re buzzing to have them join us at the festival, where they’ll be keeping everyone fed all day long!
Once the sun goes down and the outdoor stages come to a close, the festival continues with the afterparty inside the warehouse space at @the_steamworks , hosted by @groundworkproject .
Shaking Shakespeare’s to its core since the second coming of the bard, Groundwork have quite literally done the groundwork in Sheffield providing a consistent knees up for its loyalists over the past decade. With an eye and two ears for curation, they’ve earned their stripes time and time again across vast depths of electronic music with the official afterparty being no exception. Big feet fill big shoes and we couldn’t think of any better than Groundwork to round off the first edition of Higher Fields
Headlining the stage will be @reni_ldn . Raised on a diet of Rhythm & Sound, Kruder & Dorfmeister and LTJ Bukem, re:ni’s DJ sets connect the dots between dubwise techno and the wider lineage of UK dance music. Traversing tempos and styles while maintaining a clear narrative throughout, her selections are both immersive and unpredictable. Alongside becoming a monthly resident on NTS Radio, she also co-runs the celebrated South London party re:lax with Hessle Audio and Timedance affiliate Laksa.
Support comes from local legend @ashley____holmes — artist, DJ and broadcaster. A resident on NTS Radio since 2017, Ashley’s sets blend an eclectic mix of influences, moving through vital and experimental sounds from across global diasporas.
Line-up: @reni_ldn@ashley____holmes@groundworkproject
Please note: this part of the festival is strictly 18+. Entry requires either a combo ticket (day + night) or an afterparty ticket (£5). Both are available now via Resident Advisor.
Completing the @spring_tank_studios stage and kicking off proceedings is the @kitchen.radio.sheff takeover.
A newish coming to the Sheffield scene but embedded as a staple community radio, Kitchen Radio savour the flavours of Sheffield’s musical spectrum and transmit them out to their ever growing community of listeners citywide. Too many chefs in the kitchen is no phrase around here, they are bringing out their culinary best to the Higher Fields.
On the lineup:
Bonnie and Mae
Dubshack
Robyn Jade
Shananay
Tier 1 tickets are sold out, Combo day/night tickets are almost done, get your ticket now via Resident Advisor
For the festival’s live music stage, we’ve brought together two of Sheffield’s champions of the DIY scene - @hatch_sheffield and @deliciousclamstagram
Over time the name has changed but the front door remains the same as does the eclectic energy inside of Hatch. Birthed like a phoenix from the Audacious Art Space, Hatch is home to a great grass roots community, collectively defining diversity over the creative realms and correcting wrongs in our cultural norms. Size doesn’t matter in the right hands and the hiveminds behind the little space of Hatch have nurtured their disciples to great success. We’re in for a ride of the weird, wild and wonderful.
Rocking out with the kings, queens and in-betweens up Castlegate, Delicious Clam have harnessed the theatrical wild west of Sheffield’s Rockers, boppers and party poppers whilst providing vital platforms to Sheffield’s creative fringe free of prejudice. Truly DIY to their core, they’re bringing a heavy lineup from their label to the stage at @the_steamworks for Higher Fields.

We’re over the moon to announce the @gutlevelsheffield takeover lineup.
Gut Level ascended from the depths of an archway deep in Sheffield's underbelly, rising to be the shining champions of DIY queer club culture nationwide - experts in community cultivation & party acceleration. They’re a truly special group, and we’re proud to call them friends.
Headlining the Gut Level takeover on the @spring_tank_studios stage is one of the most exciting live electronic acts right now — @jorg_kuning
Known for his singular approach to techno and house, he blends dubby, bleepy, bass-heavy, and psychedelic influences into a sound that’s entirely his own.
Support comes from local legends @aminaminaa , @be__ttyyy , and @lickquidgold_
The takeover will take place in the Spring Tank yard. The community studios are not only founding members of the festival, but also one of its key venues — hosting both this takeover and @kitchen.radio.sheff (more on that soon!).
This takeover is part of Everywhere At Once, powered by The National Lottery, taking place this June.
