Weekend in Irondale. Got back outside after a busy stretch since Atlas—first real time off the turbo in a while.
Phone on do not disturb, mapped out a few routes for the warmer months and took a minute to reset.
Good to be there, and ready for what’s ahead this year.
Rain off the start, subzero temps, and icy passes set the tone from the very beginning. Cold nights, gusting winds and fully exposed climbs kept testing us throughout. @atlasmountainrace threw everything at those who raced this year. I was confronted with big highs, deep lows, and more than a few stretches where I thought my time was up. The only option at the end of the day was to keep moving forward and I’m proud of how I handled what the course had planned for me. I had the adventure the route wanted me to.
I’m excited to take what I learnt out there and continue building as an athlete this year. Definitely a lot more to reflect on and to share soon. I have the utmost respect for anyone who simply made it to the start line.
Here are a few great shots from the media team this year. It was a pleasure crossing paths with you out there the few times we did.

Spent a few days riding to the start line of the @atlasmountainrace with @chezisabelle The landscapes here change fast — even in the foothills of the Atlas, it never feels static.
Now it’s time to ease off. Some rest, maybe one last easy spin, and let everything settle before the race begins.

From perfecting every detail on set to perfecting a self-supported strategy in the High Atlas of Morocco: meet Tanner Jackson.
We are proud to welcome film/TV professional and ultra endurance athlete Tanner Jackson to the Olway™ Athlete Program. Coming off a 3rd place finish at the Golden Horseshoe and back-to-back top 10s at the BT700, Tanner is moving from behind the lens to the center of a 1,353km epic: the @atlasmountainrace
For Tanner, this isn’t just a race; it’s a narrative of self-discovery. From the “lunar” landscapes of Morocco to the simple hope of sharing tea with locals or spotting goats in the trees, he’s looking for the balance found only when things get hard.
“Performance feels pretty personal,” says Tanner. “Most of us are just out there looking for an adventure, trying to learn something about ourselves, and doing something that a lot of people wouldn’t even think to attempt”.

Unpredictable weather and a few possible route changes floating around — lots to think about heading into the @atlasmountainrace . Packing a little extra this time, even a few things I normally wouldn’t, but a cold Moroccan winter feels like the moment to play it smart.
Flight leaves tonight. Nerves are definitely there, but so is the excitement. Ready to get on the plane, get on the bike, and touch down in Morocco in the morning.
Huge thanks to everyone who’s supported the journey.

Back to work and still healing since the @goldenhorseshoerace but I am already itching for the next one. Figured it’s time to acknowledge the media crew and how they came together in capturing the route. It was so fun running into everyone out there. Sometimes at a high and sometimes at a low. I tend to have some seriously chronic positivity when I’m racing but the lows definitely happened. The times we ran into each other seemed to lift me out of those moments. It’s nice to have these memories in photo and to get to relive the experience.
Can’t thank you all enough.

I’m still unpacking mentally and physically since finishing the inaugural @ghsbikepacking but what I can surely take away from the route is that it was everything I could have asked for in an ultra bikepacking event. It was rough. It was challenging. It was the first time I felt like I was able to really consider myself a racer.
From punchy to long and steady climbs in the west, the relentless and rough hydro cuts, the deep forest sections in the far east, the feeling of being remote and removed, the water crossings, seeing all the wild life, I truly got it all out there. And to cap it off I felt like I was truly racing, while still finding time to enjoy every minute.
Thank you @theokelsey_ for putting on a killer event, the media crew, and all those who made it out or who were cheering me on. Special thanks to @reedjorgy for keeping me on my toes till the last kms. Taking third place felt special and coming under my time goal was the cherry on top.

Hard to put into words all of the feelings I have since Greece. It’s been a month since the @hellenicmountainrace and I’m still thinking about it everyday. Met a lot of amazing people and made some life long friends along before and after the ride. I challenged myself to the absolute limit and finished in a time I’m super proud of. Can’t wait for what’s to come next. This time in the homeland.
Time to set off to Greece for the @hellenicmountainrace .
Big thanks to all that have helped set me up the bike and boost me full of courage leading up to it.
Full of nerves today. With Greece leaving such a impression the last time I went with @steam_cottage I’m excited to get back and get intimate with the Pindus mountains and round the trip off with a well deserved rest on an island. But for now the focus will be turned to racing. 🚵
Race starts on the 24th. Tracker link in bio. Cap #158. More to come!

Doom.
Lots of feelings after getting out to Arkansas and finishing my first attempt at the route. The days leading up to the event brought some biblical weather pushing the start a day late. Race day started off cold, with plenty of water crossings and the wet blanket weather to keep it interesting. Keeping dry and warm seemed to be a big challenge for some. Warm weathered days followed the storms but the evenings stayed cold and damp in the valleys. Tiny naps, riding through the night, steep climbs and full chunk ATV descents. All these things together brought pure joy. Even with my ongoing knee pains throughout I pushed to the end mostly walking in the last stretch from Deer to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Reaching the finish was one of the most special moments I’ve ever experienced with myself.
Thanks to all the loved ones who watched and sent words of encouragement. To all those I met along the course whether we rode together or were just passed by one another. Big thanks to @onermaa for the love for the sport and the people who make it. And a big thanks to @moezb for the absolute trip we had over the past few weeks.
Next up, GREECE.
