With the registration opening for @goldenhorseshoerace a few days ago I dug through my catalog to relive some of the event. Getting to see some of the beauty of our massive province (we need a media team jet) at the best time of year to do so.
The riders are what make this event. Seeing them test their grit and their limits against the 1600km course is amazing. They are almost always down to tell us the story of their day/night so far and do so in good spirits.

Kevin for @wepcentral shot in the Dufferin Mall Alley.
Kevin is on his journey of recovery and reclaiming his identity. He just wants to be Kevin who does crosswords not Kevin the addict. Here’s a brief excerpt from his interview with @christianmalong talking on the closure of safe injection sites in Toronto
“What bothered me most about it is that there was so much that I’ve accomplished that stems directly from my being buzzed through those doors that one time,” Kevin adds. “I’m housed as a result of that. I’m gainfully employed as a result of that.
It’s day 27 of the @goldenhorseshoerace you wake at up at 5am in a cold sweat and check the tracker. All the riders have finished. @theokelsey_ is pounding on the window of your car asking you to go chase down the mid pack for coverage.
You wake up in a comfy bed. It’s day 10 post grand depart. You had your bike with you the whole time, but didn’t scratch the itch to shred. Your brain is still in media mode so you film a little goofy edit to keep the people happy.

Day 4 of Golden Horseshoe!
I Followed a tight pack around Dorset and the surrounding areas. It was great seeing the camaraderie between participants. They shared the stories of their nights and shared a lunch before heading out onto a 170km stretch of backcountry roads with no food or water resupply available.

Harry is a climber and Spotted the Squamish sticker on our pelican case which prompted him to drop that gem.

This was the postcard Newfoundland Stef and I had in our brains. We were lucky to see a few Icebergs at the end of their season. The clarity and colour of the bergs was surreal.
