As the year reaches its final days, we pause with gratitude. Amid wars, fractures, and uncertainty, 2025 asked for presence, care, and persistence. We've had this year fourteen exhibitions. Ten performances and lectures. Entre frecuencias dub, cuerpos en resistencia y memorias que aún atraviesan Panamá, inauguró el Pabellón de Panamá en la 61ª Exposición Internacional de Arte de La Biennale di Venezia. “Frecuencias dub de ocupación vs. la máquina de desalojo”, de Antonio José Guzmán e Iva Jankovic, convirtió el cuerpo en territorio, archivo y acto de permanencia. Una acción donde medir, tejer, cargar y reconstruir se transforman en gestos de memoria frente al desalojo, la ocupación y la pérdida. A través del sonido, la percusión, el movimiento y el índigo, la performance activó historias que siguen resonando en el presente panameño y caribeño. This project created a Pan-African transatlantic connection, a non-aligned, speculative cityscape of the future. The opening was unforgettable: ethereal, defined by peace and camaraderie. Puppets and Helly brought the activation to life through Yoruba and Afro-Panamanian rhythms, studied and composed by us, alongside the conceptual choreography advise by Shanti Monkou. With Wangechi Mutu at the Venice Biennale. Since the 1990s, she has been an inspiration, and an undeniable force, an artist whose work doesn’t just speak, it inhabits. 🇵🇦 Durante el vernissage del Pabellón de Panamá en la Bienal de Arte de Venecia 2026 se presentó el performance “Frecuencias dub de ocupación vs. la máquina de desalojo”, una acción de danza, teatro físico y ritual creada por Antonio José Guzmán e Iva Jankovic — Mensajeros del Sol. A través del cuerpo, el sonido y el tejido, la performance activa los temas centrales de Hiperstición Tropical: memoria, territorio, desplazamiento y resistencia. Los performers construyen y desmontan un hogar una y otra vez, convirtiendo el movimiento en un archivo vivo de memoria. 🇬🇧 During the vernissage of the Panama Pavilion at the 2026 Venice Biennale, the performance Occupied Dub Frequencies vs. the Eviction Machine was presented — a work of dance, physical theatre, and ritual created by Antonio José Guzmán and Iva Jankovic — Mensajeros del Sol. Through movement, sound, and weaving, the performance activates the central themes of Tropical Hyperstition: memory, territory, displacement, and resistance. The performers repeatedly build and dismantle a home, transforming movement into a living archive of memory.
