This record is about building things, both literal and figurative: momentum; energy; a community; a building. It began on a kitchen table with a laptop and headphones, and ended on stage with the joyful noise of incredible musicians and a fully invested audience. Somewhere in between I wrote off my car, ran a marathon and moved house twice.
It’s been a long and at-times arduous journey, but this feels like a milestone. The music is everything I wanted it to be: direct, euphoric and hopefully pretty unique. I don’t really know what it is - jazz? 🤔- but I reckon it’s decent.
Huge thanks to everyone involved in its creation. I’ve been consistently surprised and humbled by people’s faith in my music, and it’s given me so much confidence. The first time we all got together to play this music live, on camera, felt like such a risk… but the buzz was palpable. Thank you
