I was blown away by Nadeem’s album ‘OFFSHORE’ that came out last year on @moshimoshimusic . I love the content of the record, but also his ability to present complex ideas with such a deftness of touch - I knew we’d be able to make something good together, and ‘Home!?’ is an incredible meditation on belonging that rewards repeated listening, especially the Krio in the second verse.
Most of you will know Ruby as the singer of one of Leeds’ finest exports @submotionorchestra , but she’s also a great solo artist in her own right and I love her @firstwordrecords releases. Her voice is just so bloody smooth, honestly it’s like shoving butter into your ears. The harmonies on this track are just breathtaking. It was a pleasure to work with, for my money, one of the UK’s best singers - we made a bumpy broken beat banger.
