I wrote thousands but these are the most generative and will always be in the DNA of the work I do for myself and others.
The 🟨’s are frameworks for projects across mediums: So far I’ve made a Book, 360 Visual Installation, Album, DJ Controller, Water Bottle, Posters + Stickers, Billboard, T Shirt, Tote Bag, Radio Show, Club Night and Lecture Series.
They’ve taken me to 🇦🇺🇦🇹🇧🇪🇧🇷🇧🇬🇨🇦🇪🇪🇫🇷🇩🇪🇭🇰🇮🇳🇮🇹🇯🇵🇳🇱🇳🇿🇳🇴🇵🇹🇪🇸🇹🇭🇹🇷🇺🇸🇻🇳 and some of the expansions on these ideas exist in places I haven’t had the opportunity to visit yet.
Interpret in any way that’s useful to you.
Binaries of agreement or disagreement aren’t that important where we are going next.
If you want to share ideas you will underestimate how much you need to repeat yourself.
‘The question’ is rhetorical…
What do the ideas make you want to make?
@nandinichand asked me questions while I was in India 🟨
We spoke about creation and consumption
Gatekeeping
Local vs global
Authenticity
‘Being a dj’
Boiler Room
And A&R’s
I enjoy doing these conversations to stress test the core 🟨 ideas to see if they can still hold up as the world is changing rapidly around us.
Swindle encourages all the producers to make an album 🟨
Swindles first ever podcast is a conversation where we talk about releasing music independently for 20 years, the skills needed for producing for film and tv and his new missions as a father and teacher.

🌳🟨 Playing Records with @daddydarkrdc
Charlie & I played records from our collections across four listening sessions and a dance on his soundsystem. Thank you Charlie for your time, generosity and wisdom. Awesome to work alongside him after watching his mixes during dark times in lockdown.
We spoke about Saxon Sound, Aswad, Smiley Culture, Sade, Broken Beat, Highlife, Gospel, Funky, the early days of Grime, teaching kids DJing, our music in museums and more.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively because of music, but haven’t had the chance to do anything so close to home, so this meant a lot. Thank you team @FillyBrook for making it happen.
Thank you to everyone that came and made this so special, it was good to connect with so many heads I didn’t know are local. We’ve got a lot of talent here in the borough. Let’s make the most of it!
@brthrjcb took the awesome black and white shots.
I’ll be bringing more to Waltham Forest later in the year, but up next is @anotherthought.world
Agents don’t ‘get’ you bookings 🟨
I spoke to @m8xyl an agent from UTA to break down this thread, which I’ve done several iterations of over the years on the latest Deep Feedback podcast.
We speak about some of the industry terms artists now use publicly like ‘headline show’ and ‘hard ticket’ and what this may mean for broader opportunities.
DJs ask me about agents all the time, so hopefully this thread I wrote nearly 5(!) years ago and this conversation combined are both useful.
It’s live now on the 🟨stack, YouTube and anywhere you listen to podcasts!
Feel free to add any follow up questions here and I’ll get back to them today!
🌳🟨 ‘Playing Records’ with @daddydarkrdc Saturday event has sold out. Thank you to everyone that’s supported. It means a lot to be able to do this so close to home @fillybrook
The idea is pretty simple. Charlie and I are going to play records on his soundsystem, talk about them and then switch to a dance in the evening.
We have a few tickets left for the Sunday family session! Kids are welcome, under 18s accompanied by an adult are free 🙏🏾
See you on the weekend!
