Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday for the first screening of Like Lockdown Never Happened - the documentary. Superbly hosted by the @_isrf_ and @blocqmul , we took time to reflect on a life changing event  that we all shared, but experienced in different ways. We had some wonderful insights on the making of the film from  @amosmukombero  as well as an amazing discussion with panel members @miss_toppin_ , @zakarriyahkhalil7 , and @marv____ell . Here is a snippet from the film.

I wrote Terraformed six years ago, and it's lovely to see that it is still being read. For a number of reasons, this book is very close to my heart. Last month, I was honoured to be invited to speak about it @harriswestminstersixthform , and now these kind words from ##drjennythatcher. I'm working on something else now - almost a memoir, but not quite. So if you get a random request from me about a musical memory or experience, that's why. I'll keep you posted... #forestgate #e7

I’ve been quiet here for a bit, mainly because after 99 years on this plane, my mum, Ivaline White, passed away on 29/09/2025. We held a beautiful, heartfelt, homegoing ceremony yesterday and I was honoured to carry her to her final resting place. Vaya con Dios, mum.

Yesterday, I was honoured to take part in the Stratford Town Hall @artbeyondtheshell takeover to celebrate 60 years of Newham.  A wonderful exhibition, creative activities, film screenings, and free food! An amazing panel discussion that spoke to the joys and the struggles of growing up in Newham, and what it means to belong here - one of the most diverse boroughs in the UK.  Thank you @shanea.kerry for inviting me into this space to give a guest lecture. In my talk I reflected on the social, economic and cultural significance of grime and how it provides an anchor, and an entry point to a contemporary Black British history, that is often muted, or invisible.  Afterwards, we had a nourishing intergenerational discussion on the importance of documenting and archiving our history, why community matters, and why we must tell our own stories in our own way and much more. I hope this event is the first of many… @newhamheritagemonth
