The Texture of Time

In this exhibition, our distinct yet harmonious practices offer a dialogue on texture, form, materiality, and the contemplative act of making. Works made of wax, thread, paper, and wood invite comparison and contrast on how we approach mark-making and concepts like memory and time in our individual art practices.
Nora @sunhandstudio makes beautiful hand embroidered works on paper and I’ll show a selection of my meditative wax wall sculptures. There may even be a collab!

Our writer MG Bernard examines the complexity of organic forms in both artists’ work: ““High Desert Homecoming” and “Nude Masculine States” are two solo exhibitions that speak to the natural world, albeit via opposite conventions. While Gray interprets nature via a formalist point of view by way of her material and process choices—using reclaimed wood and creating shapes that implicate natural forms—Sargent employs nature via a contextual perspective.”
