SeeSaw is proud to announce our upcoming gallery show, 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, an exhibition of new works from Denver-based artists Lucy Holtsnider and Nora Schuchat, in collaboration with the biennial celebration of Denver’s Month of Printmaking. 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Opening Reception Saturday, March 14, 2026 5-9PM 5 W Radcliff Ave, Englewood Both Artists in Attendance 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, Holtsnider and Schuchat investigate their analog practices with their respective material mediums:; ceramic, prints and wood, thread, and paper. They explore how individual elements combine into larger forms, moving between organic and geometric shapes through repetition and pairing. By shifting scale, texture, and color, the work reveals dualities in both physical materials and emotional experience. @lucy.holtsnider @sunhandstudio #seesawgallery #moprintdenver #coloradoartists

Good morning!🌞 So many new faces joined me here after my takeover of the @artistmotherpodcast account on Friday. I was nervous to share on such a large platform, but found only support + kindness, which reminded me why community is so important. It’s truly special to have my work + story resonate and allow me to connect with others. Thank you for being here! I love talking about all things art + motherhood all the time, so leave a comment or send me a message if you like 💛

This piece is titled "Dyad," after the mother-baby dyad relationship. In the dyad, the two individuals function as a unit + in tandem with each other after birth; our wellbeing is linked. Even as my baby becomes more independent (using that word loosely as she’s just nine months, but almost ready to crawl), we are tethered — physically by nursing, emotionally by our bond which is deeper every day. The days are the same yet different as we constantly adjust + find new rhythms together. “Dyad 1” Cotton thread, colored pencil, handmade paper 8" x 5.5"

THANK YOU for supporting me, the work + this show 💛 “Material Attention” was a year in the making and I could not be more proud of the pieces I created + how the show came together. I think, like most artists, I make art because I am compelled to. But getting to share it with friends + community in person, in a beautiful space, is a particularly special opportunity and experience. Thank you to @lucy.holtsnider and @seesaw.artgallery , it was truly a joy to work with you both! #contemporaryembroidery #embroideryonpaper #contemporaryfiberart #sunhandstudio

For our show “Material Attention,” @lucy.holtsnider and I made two collaborative wall sculptures that combine her ceramic tiles and my embroidery. This piece floats directly on the wall, unframed. I shared more about our collaborative process on @artsy : “Lucy’s ceramic tiles are stunning and inspiring. For our collaborative pieces, she graciously allowed me to select from her collection of tiles to play with in different compositions and ideas. She also made several tiles based off of sketches I had made. So, the joint pieces really have been an artistic conversation between us.” Last day to see “Materia Attention” during regular hours at @seesaw.artgallery ! Open today 10-4pm (ring the bell) and by appointment. “Indigo Form with Marbled Blue Ceramic Tile” (sold) Cotton thread, fabric, ceramic, wood, mdf 2026 #sunhandstudio #denverartist #contemporaryembroideryartist #contemporaryfiberart

One of my favorite pieces from “Material Attention” is “Blue Forms on Red I.” The work is completely hand stitched directly onto paper. As I embroider, the paper naturally buckles and warps, creating dimension and movement. I wanted to maintain the dynamism of the fabric folds from my previous series of embroidered quilts on paper, but push the abstraction more; this is how I came to have two geometric forms – rectangles – that each contain the same flowing composition but are stitched in different patterns. The top rectangle has stitching in one direction, while the bottom shape has stitching that goes in multiple directions dictated by a pre-determined pattern. The contrast of the same composition embroidered in distinct ways in a single-color thread and placed next to each other is a reference to Josef Albers “Color Studies” where the color, in this case the embroidery, changes in relation to what it is paired with. On view @seesaw.artgallery through April 19. Available through @seesaw.artgallery and on @artsy . “Blue Forms on Red I” Cotton thread, handmade paper, muslin 14” x 11” unframed; 20” x 16” framed (float mounted in white wood frame with museum glass) 2025 #sunhandstudio #contemporaryembroidery #modernembroidery #handstitched #contemporaryfiberartist
