A very special thanks to Bobbi Walker, Owner of @walkerfineart for placing Lamp of Memory 3 with a collector! Enclosed is a picture of this work which is one of my favorites in the series. I just joined Walker Fine Art based in Denver this past Fall, and it has been such a pleasure to work with them!
Also featured here is a picture of me and Bobbi at the opening of the group exhibition Perfectly Lost with my installation “Guardian of the Spirits,” along with “Lamp of Memory 2” which was in the exhibition and is still available!
I use a combination of alcohol ink, candle smoke, graphite and more to create these ephemeral images on shaped aluminum. Sizes range from 48x48 to 48x60.

The trunks of aspens hold endless stories, written in the scars that are left on them. One single aspen seedling can grow an entire colony of trees that can span for up to one hundred acres (400,000 square meters). While the trees themselves only live to be about a hundred, their root systems can live underground for thousands of years. The “eyes” on aspens are formed when they shed their branches, which is perfectly fine because they are all playing an ancient game of footsie underground. #art #artist #installationart #biophilicdesign

"Ever since I was a child I have been creative. I can’t stop making things. It is what I am meant to do. I started off as a science major in college, but I ended up taking mostly art classes and just couldn’t shake it. I came home one day and told my mom I had to pursue art in school. She looked at me and said something like “duh, we already knew this.”
