Never gonna forget this Sunday at @giant___steps . I guess you dream about gigs like this.A red light and a feeling. My god.The vibe.The people ,the Hackney @the.bath.house space,the sound,the @giant___steps and @om__ldn team, the sound guys ….. 7 hours on vinyl .2 decks and 450 tunes. A re.At times it was overwhelmingly bonkers and despite occasional challenging moments mixing records on those beautiful but hyper sensitive Japanese hi fi styluses ( I’ve nearly mastered it lols ) it was magical. UPDATE: due to licensing issues we have had to change the timing for the party this Saturday with @gilesesmith which will now run from 5pm to midnight. ticket holders have the option of requesting a refund through RA, but we hope you will all still come down all the same 🐣

Seems like some people want to hear it :) So here’s the recording of my @giant___steps set of last September (link in bio) Giant Steps in London is definitely a special place to play. People come with an open mind, because the setting is unique. A DIY setup in a bright space in an old bath house. Starting with beanbags to sit, chill and listen (which might have been my favorite part of the day). And a six-point custom sound system that surrounds the dancefloor. Not powerful, but delicate and beautiful. Different from playing on a club system and not easy at times, but it’s about creating something alternative/unique. And I think Giant Steps definitely does that well. I did end up playing more club music than last time. Afterwards, I wished I played some more other stuff that I brought, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Still the set goes through different moods, it starts very calm and gentle and hopefully takes you along for a ride. Wonder if anyone will make it through the full 6 hours 🙃 (We first listened to some albums in full, which I’ve partially cut from the recording, but the rest is all there. The recording is somewhat distorted, but hopefully you still find it enjoyable to listen to)

This Sunday I’m playing at @giant___steps in London. Exactly 6 years minus one day since the last time I played there (which was on my birthday). The Giant Steps crew always put a lot of care into creating the right environment and assembling the soundsystem. As a DJ that’s a lovely feeling, something I can build on together with all the musicians behind the records I’ll bring. It’s a fun challenge to prepare a 6,5 hour set with just vinyl. Limited to what I can carry to London, I’m trying to find the right balance between different styles and energies. And hope for the best 🙃 Last time was very special to me. I hope you’ll join me on Sunday, and together ride the rhythm of this beautiful thing called music 🙌
