This year, @wasatchmountainfilm is incredibly excited to share a robust lineup of films that reflects the depth and intention behind both the filmmakers who created the work and the judges who helped shape the selection process. Our judges came in looking beyond technical ability and beautiful imagery alone (although we love us some beautiful images) searching for films that took risks, offered new perspectives, and invited a deeper connection to the people and stories onscreen. What they found was a wide breadth of stories, experiences, styles, and points of view. @acingram and I escaped down to Moab for our anniversary last month. Which of course was a perfect chance to have some more fun with the #simple90lens while testing @dehancer.film in post after we got home. As someone who tends to keep images cleaner since it’s what my clients gravitate to… it was fun getting to have some creative freedom and try different looks from film stocks after the fact. I did tend to gravitate toward Kodak vision3 with Kodak endura glossy paper and 65mm grain look, but there’s some Fuji and ilford in the mix as well. A video about using Dehancer will be live on YT Thurs!

One aspect of Artful we don’t mention often but deeply appreciate, is the artistry of the crew behind the scenes. The shots they capture and the way they craft each visual moment into a masterpiece is truly stunning. We’re so grateful for their work on Season 6 and for the beautiful way they highlight every artist featured. #byutv #artful
