2022 Olympian and World Cup winner Kai Owens has announced her retirement.
@_kaiowens consistently pushed limits while pursuing her passion and spreading joy throughout the sport.
Congratulations on an incredible career and we canāt wait to see what you do in the futureā¤ļø
What a ride. Thank you mogul skiing ā¤ļø
I am officially announcing that I will be retiring from professional skiing. Nothing but love and gratitude for this sport and everyone in it. I grew up through mogul skiing and have felt nothing but the utmost support from the entire @usskiteam . Although in recent years Iāve struggled with injuries, I wanted to iterate that this was a step I have chosen, not solely because of my physical limitations. I am happy, excited and proud to be stepping away with my head high. And I CANāT WAIT to cheer on my friends in Italy next week. Thank you everyone for making my dreams come true, forever grateful for you all. Already excited about this new chapter.
All the love,
Kai
3rd times the charm right?
Huge thank you to Dr. Hackett and his team for getting my knee all fixed up! šŖ Also thank you @usskiteam for your continued support throughout this whole process. š And thank you to everyone else who has helped put a smile on my face today ā¤ļø
Got a long road ahead but glad to have step 1 completed ā
Iāve been thinking a lot about the things that fuel me outside of skiing, and lately golf has become a fun hobby. So when @usskiteam partner @zionsbank asked me to talk about what I feel good investing in, this was an easy answer. Choosing to spend on what genuinely brings joy and balance has made decision-making so much clearer.

Hey everyone, with Ruka coming up this weekend I wanted to give a quick update. I have decided not to compete this year and will be getting knee surgery at the end of this month. Thank you everyone for the support through everything! Good luck to everyone in Ruka especially the gals š«¶
Thatās a wrap for my season š«¶! Sad I wasnāt able to compete in World Cup Finals this weekend, my knee has just had enough. Itās been quite the roller coaster but Iām proud to have given it my all. Thank you so much to everyone whoās supported me throughout this year. Best of luck to my teammates in duals tomorrow and World Champs next week. š
Time for some rest :)

Pretty happy to walk away with my best duals performance of the season and that I got to dual the speed queen @jaekauf for the first time in a while!
Also huge shout out to @_tessjohnson for getting a win and the rest of the gals for their sick skiing too. Now time for some rest before World Cup finals!
