Highly influential tape. While it was mostly skate tapes that dominated the VHS player at my neighbors house in the 90s, On The Go: Repeat Offender made its way into the rotation in 1995 and blew our collective minds. Seeing young people stand behind their art despite legal consequences, physical dangers, and societal disapproval was inspiring. A powerful testament to their passion, resilience, and commitment to self expression. Hard to believe this footage is nearly 30 years old.
1) This was my introduction to The Roots and is easily the most widely known segment from this tape.
