Drove over Tioga Pass from the Eastern Sierras Oct 2023 before they shutdown the road for the season. Ended up down on the other side in the Hetch Hetchy valley midday, which once had Tuolumne creek running freely through it prior to 1923. They say it was a place that rivaled Yosemite Valley in raw beauty. While beauty remains it does feel haunted by the people, flora and fauna that once inhabited it. Many people today advocate to take down the O’Shaughnessy dam to let the valley flourish like it once did. I’d love to see it. Shot on the Nikon F100 with Kodak t100 and Portra 400 film. Supai pt 2. Arrived at the Village and snow covered falls after a thirteen mile hike through a few hailstorms. Experimented with some 35mm Kodak slide film I cross processed to get an even more crazy blue effect on the film. Still raw film scans here no photoshop. Supai pt 1. Was asked to guide two people to Supai Village during Winter Storm Olive Feb 2023 for a four day backpacking trip. Most dangerous part was the two hour sixty mile drive thru blinding snow to the trailhead at 3 am while half the state lost power. This trip truly humbled me and changed me forever. First two shots are of the snow covered road near canyon edge and a lone pinyon pine at sunrise 4 am on the ridge of the canyon. Expired Fuji 100 from 2003.
