I’ve taken the earlier version of my monologue and re-edited it.
The first one generated quite some conversation, especially around the score and the short comic bit I added at the end.
Truth is, I’ve never participated in an online monologue challenge before, so I approached it from a place of trying to be creative and expressive.
It wasn’t done out of disregard for the monologue tradition, the producer, the organisers, or the profession as a whole.
This new version is a lot more stripped back and focused on the work itself.
I’m aware that the audition window has closed, but since my initial submission was made before the deadline, I’m hoping this updated version can still be considered as a valid resubmission.
