6/2023 UPDATE: Adopted! • “I met (100-lb) Chuckie for the first-time last fall. He’s built like a meatloaf: low, long and wide. I wasn’t prepared for his expansive body or exuberant personality. Chuckie came directly from the shelter, where he’d spent the last 7 months, but he was polite and friendly and thoroughly enjoyed the 90-minute drive home.”
Megan O.
@flynnernynner shares her foster story, currently totaling about *100* fosters. Megan started a few years ago, averaging 30 animals a year.
“In his previous life, Chuckie was allowed to wander an apartment complex and his size and lack of boundaries created issues. He landed in a shelter where he got lots of love as well as much needed structure and guidance. That journey of love and support has continued in my house. I learned from a wonderful trainer that his occasional reactivity was a symptom of a lack of confidence rooted in all that time without a structure and routine. With practice, and the help of my calm, confident rescue chiweenie Trixie, Chuckie has become the goofy, loving and occasionally stubborn delight that he was always meant to be.”
“Chuckie has learned to happily share space with my pack of rescues and fosters, but his social skills are still a little rough. He enjoys meeting new dogs but he’d thrive as the only pet in his household.”
Chuckie is about 5 years old, 100 pounds, housetrained, neutered, up to date on shots, walks nicely on a leash. His favorite activity is snoozing on the couch. Located in #Kinderhook NY, near #Albany.
