šŸ’›MustardšŸ’› (225961) from Manhattan @nycacc https://nycacc.app/browse/225961 🚨Mustard is at risk🚨 Mustard is just 1 year old, and he’s been struggling with fear at the care center. When I first met him, he started off nervous and unsure. But even through that fear, his puppy curiosity was still there. He slowly began investigating me, taking treats, and giving me little glimpses of the sweet boy underneath. After some time, patience, and a few treats, Mustard perked up when he saw a stuffed toy. And once he started playing, it was like the fear melted away. He was just a happy, playful puppy enjoying a simple moment of funšŸ’• Mustard arrived at MACC as a stray with no known history, and currently at risk.🚨 He has demonstrated high levels of FAS while in care. During his assessment he was observed to maintain his distance from handlers and vocalize (huff) at them when they move. Mustard will accept treats and pets from familiar handlers. It is always so beautiful to watch a fearful dog come out of their shell right in front of you.🄰 Mustard doesn’t need someone to rush him. He needs a calm, patient family who understands that shy dogs need time, space, and gentle encouragement.šŸ™ Please come meet Mustard. He’s adoptable at Manhattan ACC! #shelterdogĀ #fyp #share #cutedog #nycacc

Happy Tail alert! Today we’re sharing the adoption story of feline Boroughbred Saky. Turns out Saky wasn’t spicy, he was just waiting for the right person to bring out his sweet side His adopter Lauren (@lauren_mesley ) writes: ā€œSaky’s notes from the shelter described him as a very spicy boy. He wouldn’t let anyone get close to him, and he had to be on a twice daily dose of anti anxiety meds. But when he landed in foster care, he turned into a completely different cat. His foster described him as a friendly, chatty velcro cat who was always seeking cuddles, and when I read this, I knew he was the man of my dreams. In his new home, Saky gets LOTS of cuddles. His latest hyperfixation is a worm on a string toy, and his little brain is very good at solving puzzle toys. He enjoys the occasional drink from the tap in the kitchen sink. He adjusted to his new home with lightning speed, he approached me for pets on day TWO, and he’s been a very fancy, demure, and mindful gentleman ever since. His tuxedo suits him well.ā€ Inspired by Saky’s story? Visit nycacc.app to meet hundreds of pets waiting for their happy ending. #nycacc #boroughbred #ACCHappyTail

Meet Patches (253882) at Manhattan ACC! Patches’s Bio: https://nycacc.app/#/browse/253882 A volunteer writes: We all love Patches and visit him multiple times in a day! He is invisible in the interaction room where he lives because of his large size(23lbs). No guest would know there is a cat in there..Patches stays in hiding until somebody knocks on his glass door or enters his room. Patches comes out in a flash. He lives to be with people, he lives to be loved and love! You can see on his face that he is happy! The big guy weaves between his visitor’s legs, rubs at them, purrs loudly and just enjoys the moment like there is no tomorrow. Indeed, he did not see it coming when his owner died. He did not know he would end up in a shelter. So, Patches takes in all the attention, all the love he can get, the fuel that will keep his heart go when he finds himself all alone in his cage. Patches so deserves your attention. He is a sweet cat with a lot of presence and who will bring fun, sweetness and a comforting presence to the person who will give him the chance to be a beloved pet once again. Patches is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center. #nycacc #boroughbred #ManhattanACC

Looks like Olive found herself the purrfect new beginning Her adopter Emma (@emma_m_rich ) writes: ā€œFrom the moment I saw Olive (formerly Oyster Sauce), I knew she was meant to be mine. Those bright green eyes completely stole my heart! She settled in so naturally, like she had always belonged here, and my apartment instantly felt warmer and happier with her in it. She has the sweetest little personality. She quietly watches birds from the window for hours, follows me from room to room just to see what I’m doing, and then suddenly tears through the apartment with the zoomies and her favorite mouse toys. No matter what kind of day I’m having, she always finds a way to make me smile. Somewhere along the way, she stopped feeling like ā€˜just a cat’ and became my little companion. Every night she curls up on her own pillow beside me, and it’s hard to imagine life before her. I’m so incredibly thankful to the Manhattan ACC for bringing Olive into my life. She truly feels like the missing piece I didn’t know I needed.ā€ From shelter cat to soulmate, Olive is proof that sometimes the right companion finds you exactly when you need them. šŸ¤ŽBrownšŸ¤Ž(ID:252445) from Manhattan @nycacc https://nycacc.app/browse/252445 Meet Brown! šŸ¤Ž Brown was brought in by NYPD last month, so we don’t know much about his past. He’s about 4 years old and the sweetest compact low-rider at 40 lbs. He has the cutest little smiley facešŸ™‚, and honestly, I couldn’t stop smiling back at him.šŸ˜ Brown can be a bit fearful and shy, so he appreciates slow introductions to new people and places. But once he feels safe, his gentle side starts to shine. During our time together, he kept wagging his tail, leaned into his handler for snuggles, and took treats so softly.šŸ’Æ Brown may need a little patience, but he has so much love to give. And with that smile, he’s sure to brighten someone’s day, even on the hard ones.šŸ’• Brown is adoptable at Manhattan ACC. Please come meet this sweet boy and give him the second chance! #shelterdog #nycacc #boroughbred #fyp #share

For today’s ACC Happy Tail, we’re sharing the story of Bingley, who really turned the page to a brand new chapter! His adopter Lynne @fatedcanvas writes: ā€œI had been looking at NYACC’s adoption listings off and on over the last several months. The main things I was hoping for with a new companion were a sweet, friendly personality, a good walker, and a cuddler. Bingley has been all that and more!! We have had a wonderful time getting to know each other, and I could not be happier. I renamed him Bingley after a character in the novel Pride & Prejudice because of their similarly happy personalities. Bingley was a stray with no history and was very underweight. I don’t know how or why he ended up on the street, but I’m so happy to give him a new home and lots of love! He’s very friendly with new people and other dogs, he’s house trained, and already knew many commands in Spanish, so we’ve been doing bilingual training. He is up to a healthy weight now and doing wonderfully! He is now best friends with my roommate’s dog, Orion, who is a German Australian Shepherd mix. Bingley’s favorite activities include long walks, snuggling, giving kisses, and playing with his new squirrel plushie.ā€ From stray to spoiled, Bingley is proof that shelter dogs can fit perfectly into your story. Meet Bueller (244129) at Manhattan ACC! Bueller’s Bio: https://nycacc.app/#/browse/249464 Bueller just had a photoshoot and is very proud to present his new bio pic like the handsome boy he is. He is a long stay sweetheart who takes a little time to warm up and really appreciates slow, gentle introductions and a calm rhythm. Once he trusts you he turns into a total lovebug, rolling over for belly rubs, soaking up attention, and happily melting into couch naps. He’s looking for a patient, experienced home where he can feel safe, learn at his pace, and finally relax into being someone’s best friend. #nycacc #boroughbred #ManhattanACC

Meet Mc Lovin (249464) at Queens ACC! McLovin once shared the spotlight with 5 other shelter dogs in a @getspectrum commercial. They’ve all since been adopted or placed, and he’s the only one still waiting at Queens ACC. He’s the kind of dog who leans in for love, melts into pets, and just wants a person of his own again. A little patience, a lot of heart, and so ready to be someone’s best friend. McLovin’s Bio: https://nycacc.app/#/browse/249464 #nycacc #boroughbred #QueensACC
