I guess they just know a threat to corporate oligarchy when they see one! 😜)💥 New @formidableveg single: ‘Spotify, Where Music Goes To Die’ in response to the news that @spotify CEO @eldsjal Daniel Ek recently invested $700million of the money he ripped off of musicians over the years to fund the development of killer AI weapons. As artists, we don’t consent to being financial fuel for the War Machine, so we’ve taken down all of our songs from @spotifyaunz (following in the footsteps of other artists such as @kinggizzard @deerhoof and @xiuxiuforlife ) EXCEPT this one, which will serve as a placeholder to let our listeners know WHY we’ve left and WHERE they should go to listen to our music elsewhere (*update: apparently Tidal has some shady connections, but @bandcamp still seems to be the best place to support artists… and @patreon for the hardcore fans of course!). So, in short: we’d encourage you all to cancel your Spotify subscriptions AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and start funding the world we want to see instead of the AI dystopia they would have us all dragged into! (If you’re worried about migrating all your playlists etc, don’t worry- there are plenty of apps that can do it for you - and pretty much all the same music exists on the other platforms as well!) ‘The Environment’ isn’t something external to us. It’s everywhere - inside and out - an inseparable part of us all. Knowing that, can we find and celebrate the common ground that binds us all instead of destroying it and ourselves in the process? From the soil that grows the microorganisms that feed the worms that feed the plants that feed the animals and beyond, we only have one chance to live as a responsible species on this tiny, blue-green marble floating in space. Sick of doomscrolling? How about starting a band that sings about compost, organic gardening and adapting to the Anthropocene? 🤓 Formidable Vegetable was quite possibly the nerdiest idea for a band that I never had. The concept came from @katrinabutton (DJ in the clip with the rockmelon headphones) when we were doing a #permaculture course together and trying to find ways to spice up a class presentation. Little did we know that a few years later, it would become a global (albeit niche!) sensation, rocking crowds at @glastofest delivering @tedx_official talks and shaking things up around #foodsovereignty at the @unitednations . Thanks to @pattrnsocial for putting together this little package, which was broadcast on US TV via @weatherchannel to over 70-million viewers! So it’s official: there’s nothing too out-there when it comes to taking positive action for the planet! What’s your weird-ass idea?

“She don’t like that kinda behaviour…” Had fun with @greenpeaceap and a choir of musical legends singing truth to power at today’s Woodside AGM, where reckless shareholders continue to invest in a reckless company doing reckless things to Country, people and planet. The latest in their never-ending string of recklessness is their proposed destruction of the pristine Scott Reef ecosystem off the north coast of WA to further their climate-wrecking fossil fuel pursuits. Maybe instead, we could use this unique moment of manufactured scarcity to become wiser with our energy use instead of grabbing nature by the forelock and demanding she give us more. Compost dunny dancefloors, intimate acoustic reverie and blowing kids minds with glitch-funk… That’s my jam! Just had the first party at our community centre aka ‘The Herbi’ in over a decade - and it was a cracker! The building had become a bit run down, so what better way to fix it back up into a functional permaculture/party space than with a slappin community FUNdraiser! Thanks to the loads of Kwoorabup/Denmark folks who came out (despite the drizzle) in support & celebration and the bands @benfrancisart @theprimordialnotes + James & Jake on tech as well as Andy May for bringing his steampunk bakery on wheels and all of our hardworking, cake-baking, chai-making, grass-raking Peaceniks who worked their butts off to make it happen. Cheers to @thejuicemedia for capturing some of the magic and to everyone for helping raise over $5k to resurrect this incredible community space! Feeling blessed to live in this amazing place 🙏🏼
