My #flatrunner is ready for the beautiful Big Sur International Marathon tomorrow! Thank you @onpacerace @teambsmf @hoka @mush & @eatjambar for this amazing opportunity!! This will be marathon # 66 , my 5th time running Boston 2 Big Sur, and my 1st time pacing this course. I’m so honored to be selected by On Pace for this year’s pace team. To share this role with 34 highly accomplished marathoners is such a dream, as is having a spot to run this iconic race! If finishing in 4 hours and 40 minutes is your goal tomorrow, come join me & Simon for the most epic run along the jagged edge of the west! We’ll take you the whole 26.2 miles to the finish (on the 26th day of April, in the 26th year of the 21st century!) Boston Marathon 2026 is in the books! It was a great day to have a great day but I may have left my legs in the desert with The Speed Project! It was a such struggle from Mile 1 and it was a battle the entire 26.2. No matter how I tried, I couldn’t find any engagement in my legs so I did my best to up my cadence and just swing my arms😅 Ironically, the strain of Heartbreak Hill was what helped me briefly find my legs, and I had a few moments of where I could enjoy turning my legs over without much resistance. All around me, people were flying by and basking in that Boston energy that makes this race so special. Simply witnessing others having an incredible day really made me feel less terrible about my day 🥲 There was a @runlorilrun and @ultraliz.6 flyby which gave me a quick jolt of energy. Even though today completely never got off the ground for me, I’m still filled with so much gratitude for the opportunity to experience this iconic race with runners from all around the world. I spotted Patty Hung, F80, tackling her 37th Boston Marathon and a handful of other 30+ time Boston runners. I also snagged a selfie Joan Benoit Samuelson on my way out of the finish. My flat runner is finally ready for my 10th Boston Marathon! All 10 shared with my childhood gal pal @adventureswithsherry and all 10 cheered on by cuzzie @s.alioto ! This will be marathon 65 & the 3rd Boston I’ll get to share with @runwithmaxkam 🥰 So many blessings to count! Despite the brief crisis of discovering my Nikes were broken (after only 3 marathons!!), I’m thankful I brought my new favorite shoe @on ‘s Cloud Monster as my second pair of running shoes for this trip. They are a great racing shoe too (paced Oakland Marathon last month in them) & they’ll be taking me from Hopkinton to Boston tomorrow. Whew!! I’m pretty riled up and ready to go tomorrow! Running Streak Day 4821 (3.14.2026) Marin Ultra Challenge 50k. Breathtaking. Literally. ~6,500 breathtaking ft of gain! The race gods graced us with perfect weather on this day so that we could fully “enjoy” the gorgeous views of the ocean, starting with the most beautiful sunrise to pristine cutouts of the city skyline sitting atop the horizon & lush mountains bursting with blooms. It made all the work worthwhile. I may have arrived under-tapered/rested as my achilles were burning from the outset, making climbing an absolute slog so I was careful to spread my effort evenly across the 6 big climbs. I had great company most of my journey starting off briefly with @isa.trailrunner & Brian then was joined by Graham & Katie. I also caught @prayandrun from South Tahoe early in the race. The trails also brought me to meet new friends, some local, some international even! One, Dario from Spain but living in FL described his love for California better than I ever could. Be sure to catch him in ITR’s videos! He made me feel so proud to be Californian. Having friends to collectively lose our minds over how insanely beautiful this course was, was definitely the highlight of MUC for me. We were either sheltered in lush, magical forests or out climbing to great heights to view the ocean, mountainside & towns below. The hikers along the way were so encouraging & their dogs were the happiest, muddy-footed creatures out there that day!🐾 The day was so packed full of joy! I have been so intimidated by the course for a long time but I’m thankful I finally went for it! My day didn’t go as I had imagined, but it was steady & powered by the awesome vibes of our trail community. I hit my B goal (<6:45, finished 6:44😅 ) & @runwithmaxkam didn’t run 50 miles faster than I could run 50K! 😂 Thank you to @insidetrail , volunteers (🗣️ @_isa_fitz for the express SPF spa treatment at Muir!💆🏻‍♀️+ @edventure030 @terrbear401 for keeping the road safe!) & everyone sharing the trails! You made it worth every ounce of suffering! Running Streak Day 4780 (2.1.2026) SF Half Marathon. I always say I’m not a morning person but who can truly stay cranky at such a hype event!? It’s the first big road race of the new year. How awesome for it to be a sell-out event this year, meaning maximum funds collected to benefit several Bay Area charities- @gotrbayarea @rboakland @supportforfamilies to name a few. Working hard behind the scenes were our friends at @blisteringpace @pamakidrunners @sfrunco @katemi.co who made the magic of an event this size happen!! It’s been awhile since I’ve run this one. The weather, gorgeous course and event production came together for an incredible experience! I only have my lack of training to blame for my “bad time” 😂 Honestly, my 13.1 was a sufferfest from mile 3 but I hung in there. Knowing the weather the past 2 years was a complete disaster, it was easy to take in the beautiful morning and enjoy all the scenery this part of SF had to offer. I got to share a few miles with @jlopez823 in the beginning, then with a 1st timer- Danny (a 9th grader!!) off and on for the rest of the way. There was a @runwithmaxkam sighting along Hwy 1 which gave me a bit more pep in my step🥰. He was flyyyying by effortlessly as usual! I was greeted at the finish line with the most welcoming MC @endorphindude shouting my name & awarded my medal by none other than @i_support_rrca 🥹. I cannot emphasize how happy this race made my heart feel! While the event covered a lot of physical ground, it felt tight & cozy amongst the familiar faces of my beloved running community from start to finish. I loved seeing running friends I haven’t seen in ages- like @catrinemachi !! -and making new friends along the way. @sophie_szew Thank you @sanfranciscohalfmarathon & volunteers for putting on this incredible event!
