𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠 je majhen all-star ustroj oziroma kar superskupina britanske scene novega jazza. 🌍 Članske izkaznice namreč nosijo eden najprodornejših bobnarjev in tolkalcev mlajše generacije, 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿 (ki je navdušil z izdajami za neodvisno velikanko Ninja Tune), 𝗕𝗲𝘅 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 (ki je predlani izdala samostojni prvenec pri založbi International Anthem), 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 (ki ga poznamo kot vesoljskega klaviaturista zasedbe The Comet Is Coming), 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗢𝘀𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻 (ki vodi projekt Collocutor, je članica zasedbe Deleja Sosimija …) in 𝗔𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 (član skupine Kefaya …). Huh. Druščina je lani spletla drugi dolgometražec, preprosto naslovljen 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘐𝘐, ki je izšel pri priznani založbi Strut. Če je prvenec posnela v hitrosti enega srečanja, pa si je za nadaljevanje vzela več časa. Plošča je delno improviziran podvig krasnega razpona od intenzivnega do hipnotičnega, od zagnanih ritmičnih razvejanj do ambientalnega. 🎧✨

Time is warping at Flagey. Brussels Jazz Festival has begun, bringing live on stage projects by some of the world’s most influential jazz musicians. After a powerful kick-off by the one and only @theofficialdavidmurray on Thursday, we eased into the weekend to the sound of @amy.g.adiaga ’s soulful voice before our artist of the festival @bramdeloozemusic took the stage in quartet formation for his first ever performance attended by his young daughter. @lacdesable and his band Y-OTIS were on fire in the lobby for the closing of day 2.
Saturday saw two of the three projects talented multi-instrumentist @tamarosborn is part of, first with @jakelongdrums in Studio 1, then with @fl_ock , the powerhouse band she forms with @_danalogue@bex_burch@sarathykorwar and @almacsween . Their music took us on the most psychedelic trip of the festival so far. @kvrtheband was the last Saturday act, and you’d have to have been there to understand the amazing energy they shared with the public.
Sunday was high-key the Sunday we all dream of, with an immersive performance by The Rising Moon, and a virtuosic duo by De Looze and @doyeonmusic .

‘Flock II’ has been out for a couple months, and we’re still obsessed.
Comprising an exceptional line-up featuring @bex_burch (fresh from her debut solo album on International Anthem), @sarathykorwar , @tamarosborn (Collocutor, Dele Sosimi, Unknown To Known), @_danalogue (The Comet Is Coming / Soccer96) and @almacsween (Kefaya), the new recordings showcase @fl_ock ’s ability to push the boundaries of the composition process and craft unique tracks based on their collective spirit.
