Synaesthesia art inspired by what I see when I listen to Danalogue - Sonic Hypnosis. The contrast between dark and bright synth sounds/colours meant UV paints were the obvious choice.
8 hours of painting, with this on repeat, and I still love it!

Having known each other for many years playing on the same bills with @flamingodsmusic and @cometcoming / @soccer96official I was thrilled to work with Charles and his stunning colourful dreamworlds to accompany the tracks of my new Teleportations album, and it made cosmic sense to invite him to open the show with his gorgeous psych pop solo show, really have to see it to believe it!

Triptych is usually describing a three part portrait in photo or painting, 3 perspectives on a subject presented together.
I made this musical triptych to explore 3 stages of processing emotion, this is the 3rd part, sublimation which in chemistry is the changing of state directly from solid to gas, skipping the liquid phase, it happens with dry ice or a comet’s tail (coma) when it enters into the solar system to be subject to solar radiation.
Sublimation can also describe the moment of transcending an emotional state such as grief and coming out the other side, renewed and rebirthed. Although you may have changed completely in this process, often it can signal a return to self, a remembrance of who you always were deep down, and in this start a fresh cycle, this is an infinite loop hence the word ‘Moebius’

This track is about processing and sublimating grief after a period of endings, letting the feelings out like flames dancing from a fire. I wanted to capture my own journey with these emotions by translating them into a musical narrative, and try to bring out those feelings you get sometimes with nostalgia, with the pang of memories, longing, and arriving at gratitude for living and still being here. The triptych is inspired by painters like Francis Bacon who look at a subject from three perspectives.
