Some details of ‘De kracht van de vrachtwacht: een momentopname in het bestaan van de Douane’, a woven tapestry made for and with Dutch (freight) customs, who even gave us tour of the grounds. There was so much going on there that the work became a nearly 3.5 by 4.5 meter spectacle of stories and scenes.
Working with this amount of different patterns and colour combinations and weaving on this scale for the first time was beyond exciting, more is to come!
Made in collaboration with @textielmuseum , a special thanks to their project developer Lotte van Dijk.
Great to be part of the publication ‘Kunst maakt ruimte’, about 10 years of art collection of the Rijksoverheid, with my work: ‘De kracht van de vrachtwacht: een momentopname in het bestaan van de Douane’.
Many thanks to @aleinvds for making this commission happen, as well as for showcasing my work at the launch of the publication.
Beautiful design by @teamthursday
From Thursday on, alongside the work of @isaverp and @sandro.vestita I will be showcasing 200 small drawings and a series of larger works at @b.uitenstebinnen in @artsandcraftsamsterdam
Those close to me know that I tend to spend a ridiculous amount of time drawing, and that most of these thousands of drawings never see the light of day. A lot of them are reflections on current affairs, even more are silly observations of everyday occurrences. In the end, many are expressions of disbelief and outrage over the global rise of fascism and its anti-immigration protests, the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people and the consequences and foundations of environmental destruction.
Therefore, the prints will be for sale and all profits will be donated to: @migreatnl@plant.eenolijfboom and @wakker_dier 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 ❤️ 🌳

Last week, we welcomed our community gardeners, studio associates and friends to share a very special lunch cooked by artist and chef @FanjaBouts , whose extraordinary artwork is currently on display in our café bar.
The tapestry maps a world that is collapsing under capitalist systems. Fanja invited the group to come together and think about consumption, care and co-existence otherwise.
Using fruit and vegetables solely from our very own community garden and community growing project @GlobalGardensProject , Fanja created a hyper-local menu celebrating nourishment, conversation and connection.

Wythnos diwethaf, croesawon ni ein garddwyr cymunedol, preswylwyr ein stiwdios, a’n ffrindiau i rannu cinio arbennig iawn gan yr artist a’r cogydd Fanja Bouts, sydd â gwaith celf anhygoel yn ein caffi bar ar hyn o bryd.
Mae’r tapestri’n mapio byd sy’n cwympo o dan systemau cyfalafol. Gwahoddodd Fanja y grŵp i ddod ynghyd i feddwl am orddefnydd, gofal, a chyd-fodolaeth fel arall.

Some images of the opening at @kunsthall314 a few weeks back, where untill the 8th of August I'm showing my tapestry ‘A Largely Distorted yet Surprisingly Ordered Map of Regular Irregularities, A Dense Description of the Present Day History of the Future’ as well as a new work 'These Are Not Blueprints': A series of 12 risoprints and 13 audio pieces where I discuss what a post-growth planet looks like and how to get there with researchers and activists, which you can listen to on caterpillar-shaped benches.
Thank you @kunsthall314 for the great days leading up to the opening, and @guttorm_foto for the photos and all the support!
Open Now - Fanja Bouts at Kunsthalle 3,14 🪐
Showing now at Kunsthalle 3.14 in Bergen is our Best of Graduates alumnus Fanja Bouts (BoG 2023). She is dislaying her amazing, monumental tapestry work, taking inspiration from celestial bodies, supernovas, angelic bodies and the sun. Congratulation on the exhibition!

Thanks again @financieeledagblad and @fdpersoonlijk for including me in the 2025 list of 50 FD talents, I’m honoured.
Thank you for the image @benning.gladkova
And as the caption says: I will continue to make art about the ways that humans are mistreating the planet
Some close-ups of a comic I've been working on. I finally got the chance to experiment with risoprinting with @wobbyclub at @makeeindhoven and printed out the first 5 pages (all taken from different stages and scenes in the story) in 3 colours!
These A3 prints are available both in full colour and blue and are a little teaser for what's to come.. an absurd world of games, geese, rebirth and most else merging into it
