Introducing this week’s mix from Waiata @waiatag 💐✨☀️ Waiata (meaning “song” in Māori) is a New Zealand–born Māori DJ drawn to unfiltered, deep rhythm and feel-good dance-floor energy. Blending house, techno, UKG and electro, her sets move instinctively across genres, leaning slightly left of field while staying grounded in sounds that make people want to dance. Waiata builds her sets from the tracks she can’t stop returning to and the ones that spark groove, joy and connection. For her, DJing is about sharing music she loves and creating spaces where people can lose themselves to the beat whether it’s by a solid head bob of appreciation, full-on dancing or anything in between. For Exit Loop Waiata has brought us a beautiful mix of house music from around the world. This mix is filled with dreamy selects, uplifting rhythms and pretty vocals. It’s the perfect way to end this long weekend! 😌 We hope you enjoy ✨✨

This week on Exit Loop, we welcome local vinyl selector and collector VOW @facteurdelamour 💿💿 VOW is a Gadigal based DJ, although originally from more rural NSW. His love for music stems from being a collector first across all forms - vinyls, cds and digital. VOW enjoys the challenge that comes with using minimal physical mediums, pushing himself to use as many tracks from the same record or CD whilst creating a dynamically arranged mix. VOW also runs his own mix series @vows.on.vinyl that brings together music that is not bound by genre but instead by the theme of love! How sweet 🫧🫧 For Exit Loop we thought VOW could explore a similar concept but instead seeking music that brings to life the theme of Adjustment, reflecting on his recent move back to Sydney and restarting full time work. This mix is a beautiful journey that dives into deep proggy selects, dreamy and uplifting ambient textures and exciting percussions and rhythms. I really loved the variety of music in this mix and I’m sure you will too!! Enjoy 💙💙

This week, we have local selector Elio @isthatelliot joining us. Having featured on the likes of M5 on @fbiradio , I am very excited to have Elio with us this week. 🤩 Elio is a DJ based between Eora and Naarm. His mixes are a carefully crafted journey, filled with driving and danceable selects that span minimal techno, house and balearic genres. His love for music is rooted in the queer community that brings energy to any dancefloor and the community that it fosters when people are brought together. For Exit Loop Elio selected the task of bringing together locally crafted prog music. This mix explores prog tracks from “Australian” artists only across a variety of progressive genres including house, dub and tech. Elio seamlessly moves between genres and moods, taking us from dreamy and floaty to chuggy and hypnotic and all the way back round again. ✨ Enjoy ✨🖤🌱💿🪩

This week I’m super excited to introduce a real techno connoisseur joining us from Italy - producer and DJ @terminalsync 💿🎧 Manuel Sabbion, known as Terminal Sync, is an Italian DJ and producer based in Padua, operating within the underground electronic music circuit. His work explores the continuum between 1990s atmospheric techno and electro and more contemporary techno forms, with attention to sound design, spatial depth and functional club structures. Alongside his artistic practice, Manuel is the founder and curator of @flussi_sonori , a platform focused on documenting and connecting underground electronic music scenes, particularly between Asia and Europe. Through mixes, interviews, podcasts and curated events, the project highlights artists and local contexts often overlooked by mainstream narratives. Terminal Sync has been collecting vinyls since 2005 so for Exit Loop we wanted to find a concept that would allow him to delve into his expansive record collection. This mix explores Techno sounds from the 90s. It’s deeply immersive and driving, yet spatially aware, allowing the percussion and textures to breathe and fold. Thank you @terminalsync for sharing your collection with us! We hope you enjoy 🖤✨🌀

This week on Exit Loop, we welcome Majidical @matthewhannnnn ✨🔮🪄 Majidical is a Gadigal based DJ and producer, mixing sounds across diverse house genres, inspired by both old-school house producers and new-age genre pushers. Perfect for your afternoon listening as the sun starts to go down with his melodic, disco and funky house bag, or ideal for getting down and dirty later with his acidy, dark and heavy house cuts. You may have seen Majidical around Eora throwing your local house party, playing tunes at a doof or club, and helping on the door at his friend’s events. For Exit Loop Majidical has created a beautiful window into local house music, with house and house adjacent selects by producers from so called “Australia”. It’s incredible to see the diversity in styles and techniques across these producers, making us feel so lucky to have such amazing artists so close by to inspire us! Thank you to Majidical for weaving together these selects in a such a fun and captivating mix. There really is a type of house in here for everyone, from chuggy progs, to funky disco and acidic electro, I have no doubt you’ll enjoy the ride 🫶🏽 We hope you enjoy and maybe even discover a new artist you love. 🥰

This week on Exit Loop, I am really excited to have @sosssssrn joining us! 🖤 sossrn is a Naarm based DJ, telling unique stories through her soundscapes of experimental ambient and bass. Her mixes are designed for deep and intentional listening, an experience of sound that will touch every corner of your body and mind. For Exit Loop, sossrn and I discussed a new style of concept that we haven’t yet explored on the series titled Unconventional Storytelling. Artists will often use sounds and music to tell a story through their mix but for this concept sossrn wanted to look even further than just the sounds. sossrn has skillfully crafted a mix that actually uses the track names to write a poem. Inviting the listener to hear her story not just through sound but through words that echo through the music. Deep, dark, haunting and entrancing, this mix is truly an experience to listen to. Be sure to use a good pair of headphones or a quality speaker for the full immersive experience. You’ll feel the music whisper and crescendo through you as you listen. It’s an absolute privilege to have an artist as talented and creative as sossrn on Exit Loop this week. I was very inspired by her creative approach and I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I did! Thank you to Stephanie for being so open to share this with us. 🍃🤍 Mix and Poetry by @sosssssrn Vocal Processing by @sleepexchange

This week we have a new style of concept for Dynamic Movements called The Decelerate. Brought to you by DJ Void @pg.aiff all the way from Denmark! 🎶🌏 DJ Void is an artist from Copenhagen, Denmark, our first artist joining us from overseas who I am very excited to have on Exit Loop! A curator of psychedelic sounds, bringing together dark, driving and hypnotic trance and techno selects. DJ Void is also the founder of “Enter The Void” - a radio mix series for Aaja Music in London dedicated to exploring dark and deep shades of electronic music. DJ Void and I talked about the fact that often when we curate a mix you design it to progress in speed but what would a mix sound like that was the opposite of that - starting at the highest point and then working your way down. The result is a beautifully crafted journey from 170bpm down to 130bpm that feels almost like “free falling” as DJ Void has described it, through a web of dark trance and techno. 🍃 We hope you enjoy ✨

This week we have Liquid Bomb bringing us some deep, dark and dubby goodness. @jjuudescott 🎶🎧 Liquid Bomb is a Gadigal based DJ, weaving together trippy and swampy sounds that span across the dub, techno and trance realms. Liquid Bomb’s mixes take you on an immersive journey through psychedelic dance so be ready to lock in. Another member of the @cataphonic_ crew, Liquid Bomb helps curate community electronic music events here on Gadigal land and uplift other artists through their mix series. For Exit Loop Liquid Bomb has explored the concept of Opposing Forces between Dub Tech & Hypnotic Techno. This mix brings together liquid like textures (very fitting for his name) from dub and techno that melt and cascade throughout the mix. Diving into some of his slower selects, Liquid Bomb shows beautiful restraint for a mix that builds in tension and energy. Enjoy 🌊🍃🌀

This week we have a talented techno artist on the mix, introducing @saliv88ing 🍃🌀 saliv8 is a Lisbon born, Gadigal based, DJ & producer. saliv8’s mixes are a masterfully crafted journey, filled with driving and hypnotic selects that cross between techno, groove and trance. One part of the Eora based @cataphonic_ crew, saliv8 also shares a deep passion for the community music scene, helping to platform local artists at events and through their iconic mix series.  For Exit Loop saliv8 has created a mix that uses only techno (and techno adjacent) music produced by Portuguese artists. Hopefully this inspires us all to keep looking for new sounds from new and unexpected places. saliv8 has also treated us to a few of his own unreleased tracks, being a Portuguese techno artist himself, so make sure you tune in for a first preview of those! Very grateful to have saliv8 on, hope you enjoy!! 🖤
