It may feel like you’re walking in the dark with no way out but what we sure as hell do have now is a voice and that’s the first step in every point of change. Let’s keep believing that there is an existence outside of this, we can be the endo girlies who prove it. ❤️‍🩹 1/7 women have endometriosis. It is ranked within the top 20 most painful medical conditions. It takes 8-10 years to get a diagnosis. Yet it is still extremely under researched, under funded, misunderstood and highly stigmatised - women have had to shrink themselves, be silenced and live in pain for too long now while living with this disease. Use your voice. Trust your intuition. Trust your body. Doctors don’t always know best. Fight for your health. Community will help. Your pain is REAL. Give yourself grace. There are select teams working so hard to help us. There is hope ❤️ I feel truly honored to have created this piece. There are too many ways to describe the past 8 months, an addictive craziness being one, but it’s safe to say it takes really great people to make this industry what it is and GOL has been fulllll of some amazing humans. Shout out to directors Farren Blackburn & Kim Hong Sun (neither are on insta, G’s) for pathing the way, showing me how it’s done and letting me direct some lil bits for this season. The complexities of therapy, and the power in authenticity. The film is a compilation of my observations and personal experiences - love, life, hurting, healing - and our mental health crisis. A detailed explanation of the intricacies in the relationship with ourselves and how we proceed with the world around us. Why story telling is so important, I believe, is because it brings us back to a state of humanism. We sense we are able to feel, honestly and without judgment, through story. So please, let yourself feel through this lil film of ours. And please, go to therapy, be honest, be integral, be self compassionate, admit defeat and rise from it.
