The Trump administration has announced its intent to strike down a conservation measure that has prevented millions of acres of forests on public lands from being handed over to the timber industry for logging. đł
Across 38 states and Puerto Rico, the Roadless Rule was enacted in 2001 to protect about 30% of all national forest lands, keeping them intact for wildlife habitat, recreation, and more.
Without it, these forests could be opened up for roadbuilding, other construction, and timber harvest. According to @earthjustice , the top environmental law nonprofit in the U.S., this move would pose major risks to both people and the environment.
New Orleans has reached a âpoint of no returnâ and could be completely surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico within the next few decades, according to a new study published by the Nature Sustainability Journal.
As Southern Louisiana continues to be the âmost physically vulnerable coastal zone in the world,â researchers are requesting immediate action to begin relocating people from New Orleans.

Air quality is worsening in the US after decades of progress â and thatâs before the current administrationâs expansive rollback of Clean Air protections even kicks in.
The American Lung Associationâs 2026 State of the Air just dropped. For almost half of Americans, their counties received an F for air quality.
Children, those living with existing illness, communities of color are breathing the worst of it.

Red states are being approved for disaster aid at a rate three times that of blue states, according to a review by POLITICOâs E&E News.
The White House denies any political motivations behind the disparity, but the presidentâs erratic social media posting tells a different story.

Pop star @slayyyter isnât just wearing beat-up Chanels â sheâs also wearing vintage and antique animal fur.
Earlier this week, PETA called her out for her fashions, but Slayyyter rebutted by stating that her outfits are normalizing sustainability more than theyâre normalizing fur.
What do you think about Slayyyterâs feud with PETA?

The northern white rhino has been deemed âfunctionally extinct from a natural breeding standpoint,â with only two remaining in the world because of poaching, habitat loss, and regional conflict.

Recently, scientists attempting to save the northern white rhino created a new embryo for the subspecies. The last two living animals are both female, People Magazine reported.

Spring is finally here. Plants are in bloom. Leaves are turning green. Noses are running, eyes are streaming and people are sneezing.
The warmer weather is a welcome change for all, except those with seasonal allergies. And climate change is only making allergy season worse.
Pollen season is arriving earlier, lasting longer and being felt more intensely thanks to a warming climate and increased atmospheric CO2 levels from the burning of fossil fuels.
In response, the current administration is rolling back clean air protections and slashing healthcare coverage for those suffering.
As Americans navigate an ongoing affordability crisis and sky-high electricity bills, Trump has his efforts laser-focused on a bigger opponent: windmills.
The administration is set to pay a French company $1 billion in taxpayer dollars to not build wind farms off the East Coast.
As one of the cheapest and most effective clean energy resources, Trumpâs war against wind turbines (or âwindmillsâ, as he calls them) is not just political. Itâs personal.
