Our latest project for the London Business School is complete! Refurbishment and reconfiguration of the Plowden Building has provided a range of spaces and facilities to meet the evolving needs of the school, including study areas, a lecture theatre, a feature stair, a new reception and spaces for spontaneous meetings. We are very proud to have been working for the London Business School for over a decade, helping to deliver a wide variety of projects, including new sports facilities, façade restoration works, the new arrival garden and conversion of an existing 7 storey building to provide flexible office space. @toddarchitects @sheppard_robson @colliers.uk @londonbschool 📸 @agnesesanvito #educationbuilding #educationproject #refurbishment #restoration #retrofit #londonbusinessschool

Very proud that our Urban Nature Project at the Natural History Museum, led by @feildenfowles , received the Gold Award at the 2025 Wood Awards earlier this week, and was named “the UK’s best new timber project”. The project has transformed the Natural History Museums five-acre gardens and includes two new buildings constructed in timber and stone: The Nature Activity Centre and the Garden Kitchen Cafe. The Nature Activity Centre has been designed using solid Douglas Fir, to form an asymmetrical roof profile with large overhangs at the eaves, designed to offer outdoor learning space as well as forming part of the system to reuse rainwater. Glulam Douglas Fir elements were adopted in the Garden Kitchen Cafe, to achieve larger and taller spaces, whilst maintaining an elegant and efficient grid. Congratulations to everyone involved! @feildenfowles @xylotekltd @jlg_london @gittagschwendtner_studio @maxfordhamllp @walterlilly1924 @woodawards 📸 @kendalnoctor Awards pic ©️Denise Senneca #woodawards #timberbuildings #timberstructure

Our recently completed project in Rotherhithe for @southwarkcouncil provides 26 new affordable homes for social rent and shared ownership, along with ground floor retail space. Foundation structures were developed in coordination with TfL to account for the constraints imposed by the Rotherhithe Tunnel entrance which is located immediately to the rear of the site, whilst foundations to the front of the site, were designed to allow parts of the previous basement structures to be retained, thus offsetting the need for temporary retaining walls. @bellphillipsarc @rmaarchitects @guildmoreltd @annafrenchassoc 📸 @kilianosullivan #socialhousing #infillhousing #councilhousing #housing #londonhousing

Our new boarding house project, the Sir Michael Snyder Building at Brentwood School, with @cottverm is complete! The main body of the new building is formed using cross laminated timber, supporting a hybrid steel and timber open vaulted roof. Elsewhere the structure in communal spaces incorporates sculpted concrete column heads/soffits, masonry arches and projecting chimney lightwells, all contributing to the playful aspects of the design. @brentwood_sch @cottverm @rooffconstruction 📸 @anthony_coleman_photo #educationdesign #timberconstruction #structuralengineering #schooldesign

Our Trace project in Euston with @bureaudechange_architects and @hgglondon is complete! By identifying additional structural capacity in the existing transfer structures and foundations, we were able to replace three storeys of apartments with five storeys, all whilst maintaining an access route below to an adjacent housing estate, throughout the construction phase. In addition to this, masonry from the existing facade was crushed and reused within the panels forming the new eye catching facade 👀 @hgglondon @bureaudechange_architects @integration_mep 📸 @gilbertmccarragher #retain #repair #refurbish #retrofit #remodel

Our award winning Carbon Net Zero project for @dulwichcollege with @almanac_arch altering and extending the existing lower and junior school to expand and improve facilities, including a new library and teaching spaces. This first phase has been formed using a hybrid steel/concrete structure with an expressed glulam roof and cantilevered spiral stair. Later phases will upgrade the existing building fabric, improve circulation spaces and add a new junior school hall. 📸 @jackhobhouse #netzerocarbon #schooldesign #educationarchitecture #sustainability

Great to hear that our central Oxford project with @wright_and_wright for All Souls College, @oxford_uni has secured planning consent. Having not completed a significant expansion project for over 300 years the scheme will provide extensive new academic and public facing spaces for the college on Oxford High Street. Consisting of 8 grade II listed buildings in front of the Covered Market, the proposals involve the creation of a new lecture theatre, seminar rooms and college facilities over refurbished retail premises at street level. The buildings range in age from the late 1600’s through to the Georgian period with some timber roof structures dating from the 14th century. @wright_and_wright @ridgellp @maxfordhamllp @gt_llp @carter_jonas_llp #allsoulscollege #oxforduniversity #educationarchitecture #buildingrestoration #buildingconservation #historicstructures #buildingheritage

Some recently received photos of our Acklam Road project for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The 8 storey project provides 32 new homes, two new large community spaces at ground floor and a communal terrace at third floor. The building is located on a constrained site in close proximity to an elevated section of the Westway and nearby railway lines requiring eHRW to guide the project through various third party approval processes. eHRW also assisted with the facade design which consists of intricate brickwork in response to the decorative patterns within the facade of the adjacent Al-Manaar mosque. 📸 @peterlangdownphotographer #housing #socialhousing #councilhousing #goodhomesforall

Some photos of our recently completed Helios project by @adp_architecture on the @harwell_campus Oxford. The BREEAM Excellent building provides 45,000 sqft of flexible office space for the campus. A concrete frame was adopted to achieve stringent building performance requirements, but with a focus on stripping out concrete volumes wherever it was feasible and efficient to do so. An inverted foundation arrangement was adopted to minimise volumes of spoil removal from site, whilst concrete slabs were sculpted to reflect the distribution of structural forces, thus maximising material efficiency and minimising concrete volumes. #structure #structuralengineering #officedesign #concretedesign #efficientstructures #leandesign #cementreplacement #breeam #leti 📸 @plasticgoldfishco
