Last week Development Director Steve was delighted to be on the panel for an Urbano Network discussion event on "how SMEs can demonstrate their purpose beyond profit".
Steve discussed how traditionally his firm has a strong CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) focus, supporting various community charities long term, stimulating local communities and providing training, careers advice, guidance and pathways to employment for local people, but the increasing demand for social value outcomes on projects is placing a growing demand on contractor's resources.
The level of service now required by clients far exceeds the traditional CSR approach and more human resource is required to fulfil specific project led obligations. Therefore his advice to SME's, especially those in the built environment sector, was to work with others in partnership.
"The construction industry already has good partners to work with in this arena, and I would encourage contractors to set up long term partnerships with organisations who have the resources and support funding to help you deliver meaningful SV outcomes across a range of activity types. These organisations for example include the Construction Youth Trust, YouthBuild Ventures UK and many other charitable outreach broker operations."

We were delighted to be invited back to New Hall School for their Year 10 Mock Interviews, organised by The Enterprise in Education Partnership C.I.C. as part of our National Careers Week initiatives. This event offered Year 10 students the chance to practice interviews and receive feedback on their CVs.

We popped into Lewisham Library this week, to see how things are coming along.
As you can see, construction is now well underway and looks on track for completion this autumn.
A huge thank you to our partners Rooff for all their hard work bringing this iconic building back to life. We’re so excited to reopen the doors and welcome everyone in.
Watch this space for more updates!
Rosehip House, Windsor Street - Islington
.
Our project at Windsor Street, which provides supported housing for Islington residents with learning difficulties, was completed last year. The development involved demolishing the former garage site and constructing a new three-storey building with a basement. The building features self-contained units for each resident and communal areas for socialising. Additionally, there is a private enclosed landscaped courtyard at the rear, offering residents a relaxing outdoor space.
The project achieved BREEAM Very Good certification

Rooff are delighted to continue supporting the LRCTG and our congratulations go to Francesca and Suraj, worthy recipients of LRCTG Awards this year for their continued growth in skills and personal development.
The 2025 event held again at the wonderful Pewterers' Hall was the 10th annual awards celebrating 11 years of skills and training support since the group was founded in 2014. There has only been one award year missed due to the Covid Pandemic in 2020.
