Introducing our newest member @emmy.ren
Hey hey! I’m Emmy Ren, London-based Malaysian cinematographer. I started my career shooting in Southeast Asia before moving to the UK for my MA Cinematography at NFTS.
I’ve always been drawn to expressing ideas through images rather than words and I find it super cool to take inspiration from real life. I try to distill my fascination and love for people and the world around me, making each film a new experience through collaboration. The sense of play and flow on set matters a lot to me, and I always feel lucky to be able to push boundaries through my work.
Alongside narrative and commercial work, I love experimenting with form and have been working on installation pieces, specialising in lighting.
Being part of this community means a lot, especially as I navigate the industry across different cultures and spaces. It’s really magical to feel so welcomed.
