Last night at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards #AMVCA was a beautiful reminder that stories truly connect us across borders, cultures, and languages.
Standing among so many incredible filmmakers and creatives was an honour on its own. The best part was having a night out with my beautiful wife @electslady and meeting some of our friends and colleagues in the industry.
Special thanks also to my stylist #Itohan.
Congratulations to all the nominees and winners.
The future of African cinema is bright, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.
Next year we go again.
Thank you to every single person who voted in support of our movie #betiloveyou . We are deeply grateful for your kindness and encouragement. God bless you all.

Being nominated for an AMVCA award feels pleasant. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it but I do know God is in the picture.
So I just want to say a big thank you to God for this whole experience, for the strength, the favour, and for making everything fall into place the way it did.
To my amazing crew in South Africa, thank you so much. You guys poured your heart into this project and made it what it is. This nomination is ours and I’m so grateful to have worked with every one of you.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you
Being a Nigerian telling a Zulu story and receiving recognition in a South African category shows that collaboration is not just possible, it’s powerful. This is the direction African cinema must continue to grow#amvca #electsduke #BetILoveYou
I thank God for all of these and many more.
I am extremely excited and very grateful for being nominated at the #amvca12. This recognition is more than a personal milestone, it’s proof that we can come together as Africans to confront our common challenges through storytelling. When we collaborate creatively, we don’t just tell stories, we spark awareness, inspire change, and begin to shape solutions together.
To my South African Crew and actors, my support team @keamogetsem@zolaniphakade@yandahalis and the entire @urbanbrewstudios team. Thank you and cheers! To many more collaboration. @electsnetwork
Thank you @africamagic for recognising, appreciating and encouraging filmmakers consistently over the years. Africa Celebrates You.
Some stories don’t begin with a script, but an elder and a language that refused to disappear.
#BetILoveYou is nominated for Best Indigenous Language Southern Africa at #AMVCA12. Presented by @Smirnoffng@electsduke and @keamogetsem

Hello, beautiful people, Our official poster is out.
Last night, a film we poured our hearts into premieres at the Sundance Film Festival.
Though we were not there in person, my spirit, prayers, and gratitude are fully present.
In the sprawling African metropolis of Lagos, a fiercely independent young cab driver meets a band of radiantly reckless sex workers whose sisterhood pulls her into danger and joy, setting her on a journey toward her own transformation.
LADY stars Jessica Gabriel’s Ujah, Amanda Oruh, Tinuade Jemiseye and Seun Kuti. Nwosu, an alumna of the Sundance Lab, authentically researched and spent time with Nigerian sex workers. The film features a standout soundtrack of contemporary African jazz and dance music and is cast with local talent. LADY is an unmissable look at a fascinating world seldom glimpsed on the big screen.
A UK and Nigerian production, the film was developed with Film4, and financed by the BFI, awarding National Lottery Funding, Film4 and Screen Scotland, with additional support from Level Forward and Amplify Capital. Lady was produced by Ossian International, Alex Polunin’s production company based in Glasgow, Scotland, John Giwa-Amu for Good Gate and Stella Nwimo. Co-producers are Adé Sultan Sangodoyin & Jamiu Shoyode of Lagos-based Emperium Films.
I'm so happy to be a part of this project as a production coordinator and working with an amazing team from the UK and Nigeria was great. I have always believed that collaboration is the way forward for our industry. And this is proof of that.
Congratulation to all the cast and crew on #LADY movie.
